Remembering Mr. Truog ❤️

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of David Truog, a very special part of the St. Peter’s family for so many years.

Dave served as principal of St. Peter’s Lutheran School from 1980–2013, while also teaching 7th and 8th grade. He poured so much of his heart into our students, and so many of them will tell you he was their favorite teacher.

Dave also faithfully served our church as the adult choir director and children’s choir director. Even after retiring, he continued to serve as an Elder, sing on the Praise Team, and volunteer with sound.

He was honored as Principal of the Year by the Michigan District of Lutheran Schools in 2012, but those who knew him will remember him for so much more. He was kind, humble, a wonderful teacher, a mentor, and a true servant.

Dave gave so many years to St. Peter’s, and his impact will be felt for generations to come. We are so thankful for his life, his faith, and all he gave to our school and church.

Please keep his family and loved ones in your prayers.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

Look at what God is doing at St. Peter’s. ⛪️

This picture says so much — a church family growing, worshiping together, and making room for more.

Starting September 13th, we’ll be offering TWO worship services every Sunday:

9:00 AM
11:15 AM

We’ve grown to the point where it’s time to split our services, and honestly, what a blessing that is. We’re thankful for every person who has walked through our doors and for all that God is doing in our church family.

Now we want to know…

Which service will you be at?
Comment 9:00 or 11:15 below!

Same church. Same family. Two opportunities to worship together.

"Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey Him!"
We don't have to be strong enough, good enough, or in control, because Jesus already is.
He speaks peace to the wildest storms.
He holds the strength to save the whole world.
He is the sole anchor for our hope.
Stop trying to fight the storm in your own power today. Put your hope in the One who commands the ocean. ⚓✨

Our middle school youth had an incredible time at their mission trip to Frankenmuth last week!

Pastor Tyler took five of our middle school students, and we were blessed to have Elizabeth from our Harbor Group join as a chaperone. During their stay at the Bavarian Inn, the group spent time worshiping together, enjoying the water park, participating in breakout sessions, and growing in their faith by learning how to listen well and confidently share the reason for the hope they have in Christ.

“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” – 1 Peter 3:15

The students also completed a meaningful service project for Nest, an organization that helps provide essential items to local shelters and those in need. Through a car wash fundraiser, they were able to support this wonderful ministry and make a positive impact on others.

Thank you to Pastor Tyler, Elizabeth, and everyone who supported this trip. Most importantly, thank you to our amazing youth for representing our church so well. We are grateful for the memories made, the friendships strengthened, and the faith that continues to grow.

📣 Looking ahead! The 2027 Youth Mission Trip will be to Knoxville, Tennessee and is open to students entering 6th–12th grade. We can’t wait to see what God has in store next!
