Praise God for the ACME Fellowship Regional: Word-Centered Church Day-Conference last weekend!

There were over 260 attendees from nearly 30 different churches at Covenant Life Church for a full day! It was a joy to see brothers and sisters from across the region coming to consider what it means for God’s Word to be the foundation and authority for the life of the church, its pastors, its members, and its impact on the community around it.

Thank you to our speakers — ACME Fellowship Board Members Aaron Menikoff and Omar Johnson, ACME Fellowship Regional Moderator Joel Kurz, 9Marks President Jonathan Leeman, New Covenant Baptist Church Lead Pastor James Choi, and Covenant Life Church Lead Pastor Kevin Rogers.

Thank you to Aaron Menikoff of Mount Vernon Baptist Church for encouraging us this weekend at our ACME Fellowship Regional: Word-Centered Church Day-Conference on Saturday and then preaching from Romans 12:3–8 on Sunday, where we were reminded that the Lord’s grace is at work in the church—blessing each member with spiritual gifts, and binding us together as the body of Christ by a single gospel to forward God’s mission.

We were reminded on Sunday from Psalm 59 that, no matter the circumstance or trial, we can have confidence in God—our refuge and fortress of steadfast love. Our hope is not only in earthly deliverance; we rejoice in Christ’s ultimate victory, so we sing with joy and hope:

“Death was once my great opponent
Fear once had a hold on me
But the Son who died to save us
Rose that we would be free indeed!
Yes, He rose that we would be free indeed!

Free from every plan of darkness
Free to live and free to love
Death is dead and Christ is risen!
It was finished upon that cross

Onward to eternal glory
To my Saviour and my God
I rejoice in Jesus’ victory
It was finished upon that cross!”

We celebrated three baptisms this past Sunday!

After hearing from Psalm 58, hearing these testimonies was a fitting reminder that the God who judges is also the God who saves. Please pray that they would continue to grow in their faith, and that the Lord would bring many more to come to know Christ and be baptized through the ministry of our church!
