During each week of "The Bible Jesus Knew" sermon series, Rev. Brady will recommend a book to accompany the series for those interested in diving deeper. This week's book is "The Epic of Eden" by Sandra L. Richter.

In the beginning, God created you in God's image and called it "very good." You are not an accident in a meaningless universe—you are the intentional creation of a loving God, made for blessing, abundance, and purpose.

For 100 years, the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge has been a place of worship, celebration, comfort, and community. Generations have gathered here to pray, sing, grieve, rejoice, and grow together in faith.

In celebration of 100 years in our historic sanctuary, you can help First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge build something for the next 100 years! The Century Fund will be used to provide a gift to one selected Baton Rouge nonprofit each year. 4% of the fund will be distributed annually, creating lasting impact for our community for generations to come. Our goal is to establish a $1 million fund.
Join us in building a legacy of generosity, hope, and service for the future.

We're so glad you're here!
How can we make sense of a world filled with so much beauty and so much brokenness? What if we knew God, the world, and ourselves the way Jesus did? Before there was a New Testament, there was the Bible Jesus knew — the Hebrew Scriptures that shaped Jesus’ prayers, imagination, and understanding of reality. This week, we begin in Genesis, where the story of creation reveals what kind of God we’re dealing with, the truth of the human situation, and the first whispers of God’s redemption plan.

This summer, Revive225 has the exciting opportunity to welcome four mission groups to our community! One simple but meaningful way we can share the love of Christ and practice “Love3” is by providing homemade or store-bought desserts for these special guests during their stay. We are looking for volunteers to help make our visitors feel loved and appreciated. Please review available dates and sign up to help by visiting www.fumcbr.org/dessert
