Another Love Your Immigrant Neighbor prayer service was held in New Orleans this weekend, bringing attention to the way New Orleans has relied on migrant labor to rebuild the city.

Following the devastation from Katrina in 2005, immigrants made up roughly half of the local reconstruction workforce. Join the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge for our Moveable Pray-for-Peace Vigil on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 2–4 PM.

Visit one or more prayer sites, pray in your own tradition, and unite with others across our community for peace. At 3 PM, everyone is invited to sing or pray, “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

I continue to be grateful for all who made Saturday’s gathering possible and for all who spoke or sang or prayed with us.
We will continue our witness on Thursday at the England Airpark board meeting. Join us at 4 pm.

The family and children detention facility is set for construction at England Airpark in Alexandria, which is on the same land as the largest hub for deportation flights in the United States.
