Thanks to Nancy and Jack for opening their home Thursday night for a very special edition of our monthly Prayer and Praise Service! It was a gift to worship together in their home just like the early church did 2,000 years ago.

We can't wait to feel that same joy of the Spirit when we worship together tomorrow morning at 9 and 11am.

SPRC is happy to announce Rev. Cheryl A. Broome as the new Associate Pastor of Congregational Care for Northwest Hills UMC to begin July 1st

Cheryl was born in Syracuse, New York, and by way of Oklahoma City, made her way to Texas as soon as she could. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Management from Southwest Texas State University. She felt God's call to pastoral ministry and attended Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, graduating in 2002 with her Master of Divinity degree. She was ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2006.

Over the past 23 years, Cheryl has served as pastor in churches across Texas—from Elgin to San Angelo to Austin—in roles ranging from youth and associate pastor to senior pastor. Her deepest calling has been to prayer and congregational care.

Cheryl has been married to Kevin for 40 years and they have two sons living in Austin. Outside of church, she enjoys reading, photography, and playing the banjolele! She looks forward to serving alongside you and walking with our congregation as we care for one another and grow deeper in our love and service to God in our faith journey together.��

In joining our team and pastoral staff at Northwest Hills UMC, Pastor Cheryl will be stepping into Pastor Ray's associate role as he joyfully retires at the end of June.

Tonight, these awesome volunteers, (and a few who are not pictured), came out to the food pantry at 601 W. Braker Lane to serve 20 visitors and 53 total clients.

We don't always get to see the positive impact of our actions, but when you serve at the pantry, you get the gift of directly experiencing the hope that food represents.

Our next Monday to staff the pantry will be July 6th.
