Good morning!

The St. Mark food pantry is in need of dog food and cat food. Canned or dry would be great! Many people come to the pantry with their fur babies and request food. If you have a large bag, we can place it in smaller bags. Or you can portion dry food at home and bring it by! We are open Monday 5-7pm, Wednesday 10am-noon, and Friday 10am-noon. Thank you!!

Pastor Ashley

Dear St. Mark,

After a period of discernment, prayer, and guidance from our district office (the Capital district of the United Methodist Church), the St. Mark leadership team has decided to close the church. This decision was not made lightly and multiple factors were considered during this process. Our official date of closure is set for June 30, 2025.

Friends, I know that this news will weigh heavy on many hearts. I know that this church has meant so much to so many people for many, many years. I am truly amazed at the legacy that this church has built. Please know that I am here for you if you would like to talk, text, or meet in person.

When the road ahead looks uncertain, may we remember that the Lord is always with us, that the Spirit has been faithfully by our side and will continue to be as we walk through this next season. And may we remember that the Church is the people, not the building. The work that has been accomplished will never be taken away, the relationships that have been built can continue to grow, and the gathering of the people for worship, study, prayer, and service can continue as long as there are people to gather.

The leadership team would like to celebrate the legacy of St. Mark that we have all built together over 60 plus years! What a beautiful community this church has been and has made a lasting impact on many lives. Before the closing date of June 30, we will plan to have a community celebration to celebrate the legacy of St. Mark. More details will be sent out in the coming weeks regarding the celebration and when the last Sunday service will happen.

It has been a tremendous honor and joy to serve as your pastor. I will miss you greatly- I will always be a phone call away. I love you all dearly!

Peace and love,
Pastor Ashley
