“This song was on repeat for me in 2023 June. I went on a trip, hiking across the countryside of Spain. I was part of a team that was supposed to meet people and share with them about Jesus, but I found that walk became my own pilgrimage, trying to find answers to the worst (or best) questions to ask when you’re far from home. Do I have a purpose? Surely the answer was yes. Jesus promised he came to Earth to give life abundant. But no way I knew what that meant.
This song represented hope, not the kind of hope you need for desperate times in a dark tunnel, but when you look at the expanse of sky, or the photos of Earth that Artemis II took from the moon, what significance does one human have in the universe?
But the sky and stars are where I love to be right now, because every time I look up, I discover again and again that God shaped everything with me in mind. Did you know that when a rainbow shows in the sky, every single person sees a unique rainbow? What a design that God fine-tuned just for a person like me, a promise he made that he would give me abundant life. People say if you were the only one on Earth, Jesus would still die for you. If you were the only person he would ever create, I think he would still outdo himself and create the universe to be your playground.”
