On 18 Apr, we gathered for our first hospitality conference - Making Room: Embodying Christian Hospitality.

We went from "welcoming strangers" to "making friends", and were invited to "become family" with an urgency to bring our community to feast at the Father's heavenly banquet.

We traded stories, shared meals and were inspired by one another's takeaways from the sessions. While we embody Christian hospitality, we must not lose sight of the ultimate purpose—pointing them to Jesus, the only Way to the heavenly banquet.

May our hearts not grow weary of God-glorifying service, whether through serving food, washing feet or simply being a listening ear.

This past Good Friday, we walked with Jesus on His Journey to the Cross — through hyper-realistic art and role-players bringing the story we know so well to life. Art ambassadors also guided us through the art, which turned words into images

At the end of each journey, we were given nails as we stepped into the sanctuary, as the song "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord" rang through the cavernous space.

As we reflect on what was done on the cross, may it transform our hearts to see the awesome truth of "how we are worse sinners than we ever dare imagine, and yet more loved than we ever dare hope"

The art was produced by and supported through .co

On 1 Feb, we celebrated in many ways for many things.

Our children and young adults danced in worship, as the adults sang in praise of God's provision and faithfulness to Fairfield.

We witnessed the official retirement of 4 long-serving staff and missionaries, praying over them in their new seasons. They served in Singapore, Mexico and Thailand between 30 and 44 years.

We heard an exhortation from about living our lives not just in celebration of what God has done, but to respond by presenting ourselves as living sacrifices. He prayed over us as a church and individuals, to respond to the Lord's call to us.

Our guests from TRAC, church leaders and mission workers mingled over lunch in the Social Space, where they also enjoyed the art pieces from Art-vent.

May we always look to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, and be so in awe of Him that we will bring the sacrifices of our lives and time - so that we may point others to Jesus, and we may make our years count.

Today, we celebrate the 78th anniversary of our community of faith.

The humble beginnings of our congregation in Neil Road in the 1930s to being established as a church in 1948, to growing and moving into our current location on Tanjong Pagar Road is something we must continue to tell the generations about. Not just about growth in congregations, but of God's faithfulness to Fairfield and His work through us.

There is never a group of people without struggle or pain, but the beauty of knowing and following Christ is that we can give and receive healing, restoration, forgiveness and love because He first offered all these to us.

This keychain is an anniversary souvenir for all who come to Fairfield. It features a commissioned rendition of our building, by and member of our congregation. Whenever we see it, may we remember our mission to Magnify God, Multiply disciples, and Minister to all people's.

May we continue to be Christ's light where He has placed us, both as a corporate body and as individuals.

As 2025 draws to a close, we wanted to reflect on what God has been saying to us through NextFairfield and consider what is ahead.

ArtVent is our first art festival, featuring 18 pieces of painted, written and sculptural media and showcasing the artists' interpretation about being a light for Christ in the city. The artwork will be displayed at the Social Space on L2 and in the Lobby until the end of February 2026. Don't miss it!

As we appreciate the art, may it bring our hearts to contemplate on His goodness and faithfulness to each of us and as a body of Christ at Fairfield.

A blessed Christmas to you and your loved ones!

On 14th December, 17 brothers and sisters from the Mandarin Service and China Nationals Ministry were baptised.

Among them were locals, migrant workers, and two cleaners who have worked in Fairfield for several years.

The two who work with us felt the warmth and love from different members of Jesus' family here, and made the decision to become His disciples.

Some others were elderly, and their family members have persistently prayed for their salvation.

Their families and friends came to witness this joyous moment. All glory to God!

In November, we had the last YA mixer for 2025, gathering to give thanks for God's provision through all our circumstances.

Some YAs were in the midst of their exams, while others were at a YA mixer for the first time; a band of older adults and children rounded up the festivities of enjoying one another's stories and company, and to just be in community.

Sharing meals and life may not always be easy, whether by way of schedule or because some things are hard to articulate. Spending more time together will allow things to develop naturally, and as we gather as a body of Christ, the hope is that we will point one another to the eternal life, hope and joy He gives.

Join us at the next one! DM us so we can update you. There's always room at the table.

At the 50th Session of the Trinity Annual Conference this week, the following pastoral appointments were announced for Fairfield.

We are thankful for Ps Ivan's reappointment to our community.

Since 1st Dec 2024, Ps Bernard has held 2 full-time jobs - pastoring and leading us, while lecturing at TTC and giving guidance to doctoral students. The gift of his time, energy and wisdom for us has been invaluable, and we will miss him.

Ps Wendy pastored our church from 2020 to 2024, and we welcome her back to our community after her break.

To all that God will do in and through Fairfield in 2026 and beyond, we give Him praise.

In early November, one of our young adults, Ethan, returned from his university exchange programme and surprised the breakfast team with koala-ty gifts!

Many of these ladies have been serving for decades, serving generations of churchgoers with love and hospitality. Their staples of porridge, fishballs and chee cheong fun are part of our Sunday routines, making comforting memories of being in church.

It is so heartwarming that Ethan remembered these ladies when buying souvenirs for those at home. Praise God for his love, and may we also be inspired to encourage these ladies and others who serve in church with words of affirmation, prayer and a giant smile.

On 12th October, our LCEC leaders and pastoral staff were dedicated for another year of service. Our Lay Leader Daniel preached from Matthew 5 about being "A Certain Kind of Disciple", using the analogy of a superhero to help us consider if we are disciples who remain hidden, or make a difference in the world we live in.

On the following weekend, the leaders went for a retreat and, among other things, spent time discussing the findings from our NextFairfield questionnaire. NextFairfield is our church-wide exercise of praying, listening and discerning what God has in store for our church in the new season. This ties in with our desire to renew the lease of our church building.

Let's continue to pray for unity, wisdom and humility as a church so that we can be effective disciples wherever we're placed.
