During the night, Kyiv suffered a powerful attack by Russian drones and missiles. A missile struck a residential building located opposite the Dominican friars’ priory, causing serious damage to the convent.
According to fr. Jarosław Krawiec, OP, the force of the explosion destroyed most of the windows and doors of the priory. The St. Thomas Aquinas Institute of Higher Religious Studies, directed by the friars, also suffered damage to its classrooms and auditorium. The conventual chapel was also affected, with windows and stained glass shattered.
From the morning, the faithful and friends of the Dominican community gathered for Mass and remained to help clean the damaged areas. If you are able to make a donation to help repair the windows, your support can be sent to the friars:

“Despite these difficult and painful experiences, we do not lose hope for peace,” fr. Jarosław said.
The Order of Preachers invites the whole Dominican Family to pray for the friars, the faithful in Kyiv, all those affected by the attack, and for the gift of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
