Last week, City of Boroondara celebrated the completion of its involvement in the project, a Celebrate Ageing Ltd initiative designed to raises awareness of older women's contributions to society and promote gender equality.

Eleven women participated in the project, contributing personal stories and a recipe demonstrating how they experience respect in everyday life – in small moments of recognition, inclusion and connection that can too often be missed.

Among the contributors was Sr Susan Daily CJ, who reflected on her years working with Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory teaching art skills and providing materials and support.

The idea of the biscuit tin symbolises a simple thing in every home that holds memories, rituals and quiet acts of care. Susan’s biscuit tin incorporates with the work of a woman from the Santa Teresa community.

On 23rd June, sisters of the Congregatio Jesu and all who follow Jesus in the footsteps of Mary Ward unite in prayer, as we do on the23rd of each month.

Mary Ward lived with a faith so deep, so unshakeable, that it became her compass in every moment of her life. She trusted God completely. She listened. She followed — with a courage that was not her own, but given to her by the One she served.

That same faith lives on today, in every sister, every lay member of the Mary Ward Family, every heart that seeks God with sincerity and freedom.

Today we pray together for her Beatification. That this extraordinary woman of God may be recognised by the whole Church for what she truly was: a witness of deep, fearless, luminous faith.

Mary Ward, woman of God, our inspiration, pray for us and give us your spirit.
