“I am firmly persuaded that our good God is lovingly watching over your every motion, breath and word, and will give you a special grace to do his ever adorable will. Hear him say to you, ‘Fear not, I will be thy reward exceedingly great.’” (Teresa Ball)
In October, the Month of World Mission, these words invite us to place our mission in God’s loving hands. Following in the footsteps of Mary Ward, Teresa Ball carried her vision forward with courage and trust. She brought Mary Ward’s Institute to Ireland and helped send its mission far beyond familiar places, to educate, accompany and serve wherever there was greatest need.
Her legacy still speaks to us today. Mission is not only about where we go, but about how we go: with open hearts, attentive spirits and the confidence that God is with us.
In our schools, communities, parishes, ministries and places of prayer, our sisters continue to live this call. And perhaps God is gently inviting you, too, to listen, to trust and to take the next step.
