A little about those who make Bridge Project Tadcaster: Gary Bentley
Today we want to introduce you a bit more closely to our colleague Gary. He has been with us for a year now (since March 2025), and in that time he has become someone who can always be relied upon, both by the team and the young people who come to us.
Here are a few facts about Gary and his “superpowers”:
- Experience and Knowledge:
Gary has been involved in youth work for over 30 years. Despite this vast experience, he continues to learn and is currently balancing his full-time job with a PhD.
- Master of Organisation:
If an event of any scale needs to be organised to the highest standard — he’s the one. His organisational skills are a true pillar for our project. A great example was the Total Warrior sports event for children and their parents last year, which went brilliantly thanks to his precise preparation.
- A Man Who Knows How to Listen:
Gary talks a lot with teenagers, helping them navigate difficult life situations or personal questions. The kids know that if they find themselves in a tough spot, they can always talk to him and find sincere support and a kind word.
- About What Matters Most:
Faith became a central part of Gary’s life at the age of fourteen. This is what continues to inspire him; in his spare time, he writes and self-publishes Christian devotionals and study guides for home groups.
- Family and Leisure:
At home, he is joined by his wife Liz, their three grown-up children, and a dog. In his free time, Gary enjoys hill walking, watching rugby and comedy, or visiting Italy as often as possible.
We are very glad to have such a reliable and thoughtful person in our team. ❤️
