🌿 Could you help support Picnic in the Park? 🌿

During the school holidays, Picnic in the Park gives local primary school-aged children and their younger siblings a place to come together, have fun and enjoy a free lunch.

Picnic in the Park is completely free for families, and with the support of our wonderful community, we can provide hundreds of lunches throughout the school holidays. 💚

If you would like to support what we do, even a small donation can provide:

🥪 £3 provides 2 children’s lunches
🥪 £6 provides 4 children’s lunches
🥪 £12 provides 8 children’s lunches

Or simply give whatever amount you can.

🏪 Are you a local business?

We’d also love to hear from local businesses who would like to support Picnic in the Park, whether through a donation, food or other supplies.

Thank you for supporting Picnic in the Park and helping us provide free lunches for local children. 🌿

👶 Bambinos Baby & Toddler Group, 10:00am to 12:00pm, Old School Rooms
🔔 Bell Ringing Practice, 7:00pm to 8:00pm

One of the lovely sounds of village life is hearing the bells ringing out across Rayne. If you hear them on Wednesday evening, that’ll be our bell ringers practising and filling the village with that familiar All Saints sound.

Thursday

Saturday
🍞 Knead Bread Group, 10:00am to 12:00pm, in church. Come along for a relaxed morning of bread making and good company. Knead is very popular, so please contact [email protected] to book your place.

Sunday
⛪ All Age Service, 9:30am

A relaxed service for all ages, and everyone is very welcome to join us.

🧸🪂 And then it’s time for the BIG JUMP!

Our much-anticipated Teddy Bear Parachute takes place from 2:00pm to 4:30pm. Bring your teddy along and watch them take the leap from the church tower!

There’ll also be a BBQ, ice cream, refreshments, raffle and prizes. A great afternoon for the whole family.

The church is also open every day from 8:00am to 4:00pm, if you’d like to step inside for a quiet moment, prayer, or simply a bit of peace.

Whether you come every week, haven’t been for a while, or have never stepped through the doors before, you’d be very welcome.

Please message us with any questions or for more details about any of the above.

All Saints is here for the whole community. 🙂

🎉 WE DID IT! £187,504 SECURED FOR ALL SAINTS! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that All Saints Church, Rayne has been awarded £105,504 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, completing the funding needed for our essential building repairs.

🏠 Repairing and weatherproofing the Chancel roof

🔨 Major repairs to the Clergy Vestry, including a new insulated roof, structural stabilisation and improved drainage

📜 Protecting the church’s historic fabric and treasures, including the Kidder manuscript, from future water damage

This vital work is urgently needed, so this is fantastic news, the project can now go ahead!

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Rayne Church Building Trust, Rayne PCC Fabric Fund, Friends of Essex Churches and Tom Amos Charity, as well as everyone who has donated, fundraised and supported the project.

Special thanks to National Lottery players, whose support has made these vital repairs possible. 💚

🌿 Eco Church Friday: Caring for a Wild Churchyard 🌿

This week, we’re giving a big thank you to Fraser from Fraser’s Fresh Cuts! He has been spending time helping us manage the churchyard at All Saints.

A wild churchyard is a wonderful thing. It gives space for flowers, insects, birds and all sorts of wildlife to thrive. But it still needs care, time and hard work to keep it healthy, safe and accessible.

That balance matters: not too tidy, not too wild, but cared for in a way that helps both people and nature.

Fraser has helped us with a huge amount of practical work and manpower, and we’re really grateful for the time, energy and care he puts into helping us look after this special place.

If you’re looking for someone local to help with garden or grounds work, do have a look at Fraser’s Fresh Cuts and give his page a follow.

Thank you, Fraser, for helping us care for this little pocket of creation in the heart of Rayne. 🌿
