We have just begun a long-term project to encourage more diversity of wildlife into the churchyard. A section of grass will be left uncut to allow wildflowers to mature and provide nectar for bees and butterflies and seedheads for birds. Braintree District Council will cut and clear all growth around September, then we will add further wildflower seed. We expect it will take two or three years to develop, so watch that space!

The project is part of our Eco-church initiative, as we believe we have a role to encourage God's creation to thrive.
