Thanks to funding from the Coronation Food Project, we’re delighted to launch a brand-new initiative: Community Ready Meals.

Using surplus food from our Community Fridge, our incredible volunteers have been busy transforming good-quality ingredients into delicious, healthy, homemade ready meals for local people and families. Not only does this help tackle food waste, but it also provides affordable, nutritious meals for our community.

Our first menu included:
Spaghetti & Meatballs
Chicken Casserole
Sausages & Mash

This project wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and hard work of our amazing volunteers, who have given their time, skills and enthusiasm to get Community Meals off the ground.

A special thank you goes out to Martin and Phil from Orchardville for their fantastic support and all the hard work they put in today!

We can’t wait to see Community Meals grow and continue serving our local community, one meal at a time.

This letter, written by Alexander Mackay to Adam Clarke, explains why Mackay was unable to travel to the Channel Islands for Clarke’s mission. In it, Mackay states that on 22 May 1826 he would instead be opening a new church in Ballymacarrett... The congregation that, 200 years later, is known today as East Belfast Mission.
