Even after being rightfully anointed king, David humbly played the harp to soothe Saul's tormented spirit. Despite Saul's intense jealousy, rejection by God, and attempts to pin David to the wall with a spear, David maintained a resilient heart of service. David was hiding in the cave, he had the perfect opportunity to strike down King Saul, the very man trying to kill him. Even his men told him to do it! But David chose incredible restraint, refusing to touch the Lord's anointed and trusting God's perfect timing instead of taking matters into his own hands.
