This week we say goodbye to Lisa Warden, our brilliant Street Hope Victoria Director. Lisa is stepping away to finish her counselling training, a vocation which suits her giftings so well.
It's been a joy to work with Lisa for the last two years. She has brought fresh insight and vision to SHV, and the work has grown under her leadership, with more volunteers and our new Thursday night outreach. She has been a real encouragement to our volunteers, and I know she will be missed.
Most of all I have appreciated Lisa's thoughtful compassion and mercy for our friends and neighbours on Pandora Avenue and in the downtown core. She knows we all need relationships with one another, and so she has never shied away from difficult circumstances, and she's been honest about the challenges of ministering downtown. Her love for people is genuine, and her longing to be more like Jesus clearly shapes the way she thinks about and builds relationships with people. I am truly grateful for her leadership of SHV and all she given to our community here in Victoria and Threshold Ministries as a whole.
Please join us in thanking Lisa and wishing her well, and please pray for her as she finishes her studies and steps into what's next. Do also pray for our interim volunteer leadership team, who will be guiding SHV with me through this transition.
