FAITH IN TROUBLED DIFFICULT TIMES

Sermon Title: Faith in Difficult Times
Main Scripture: Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Introduction
Life brings seasons of hardship—loss, delay, uncertainty, and pain. In those moments, faith is not just a concept; it becomes a necessity.

Faith is not about denying reality—it’s about trusting God despite reality.

1. Faith is trusting God when you don’t understand
Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
We often want answers before we trust
But God calls us to trust before we understand

Sometimes God will not explain—He will lead
Example: Abraham
God told him to go without showing the destination
Abraham moved by faith, not clarity

2. Faith grows in difficult seasons
Scripture: James 1:2-3
“The testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
Trials are not meant to break you—they build you
Faith is like a muscle: it grows under pressure

What you’re going through may be developing you, not destroying you

3. Faith means walking even when you can’t see the full path
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Faith is taking the next step, even when the future is unclear
God often reveals the path step by step, not all at once
Example: Peter walking on water
He walked while he focused on Jesus
He sank when he focused on the storm

What you focus on will affect your faith

4. Faith holds on to God’s promises
Scripture: Isaiah 41:10
“Fear not, for I am with you…”
God’s presence is the anchor in difficult times
Even when circumstances don’t change immediately, God is still working

Faith says: “God is with me, even in this.”

5. Faith produces victory
Scripture: Romans 8:28
“All things work together for good…”
Faith doesn’t mean no struggle
It means the struggle will not have the final word

Your situation is not your conclusion—God is still writing your story

Conclusion
Difficult times will come—but they don’t come to stay. Faith is what carries you through.
When you don’t understand → trust
When it’s hard → keep going
When you feel weak → hold onto God’s promises

“Whatever you are facing today, God is calling you to trust Him. Not when things are easy—but right now, in the middle of your situation.”

KEEP TRUSTING GOD...

ANSWERING THE QUESTION..WHAT IS EVIL?

22/02/2026

FOUNDATION...
(1)An underlying basis or principle.
(2)The action of establishing an institution or organization.

In simple terms.. Foundation is the *Original* or The *Starting Point*
JESUS SAID....
St. Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
St. Matthew 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
St. Matthew 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
St. Matthew 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

When starting building a house.. the Foundation always is usually invisible... People only see the end of the structure, They don't see the Foundation...

Our spiritual Foundation must be strong and it has to be based in the Knowledge of fully knowing Jesus Christ and the Deep Love of God.

And that Foundation is having cracks and shaking everything will fall.. Jesus said the Flood, Rain, Wind all these will come to test the Foundation... But if it is built on the ROCK.. the House will stand.

I realize that certain things are cracking in our lives because the FOUNDATION, that starting point or it's original was not on the ROCK...

And in the SPIRITUAL REALM.. the enemy does not care whether one is rich, or Beautiful or is Queen or King..
The attack still come... A good example is Hezekiah the king.. he faced the test of his life.. but his foundation was strong on the rock..
Isaiah 38:1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, *Set thine house in order:* for thou shalt die, and not live.

He was told to SET HIS HOUSE IN ORDER

Hezekiah did not say Oh Lord iam a king... No..
Here is what he said....Isaiah 38:3 And said, *Remember now, O LORD,* I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

REMEMBER ME O LORD...
This tell us what his FOUNDATION WAS BASED ON... it was in God
Check the Results... 15 more years was added to him..
*Foundation is very important*
In Joshua he declared a curse not Rebuld the city of Jericho...
Look what happen when reading in 1 Kings..
Here is what Joshua said... Joshua 6:26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.

CHECK THE RESULTS.. IN 1 KINGS.
1 Kings 16:33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
1 Kings 16:34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the *LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.*

See Abiram and segub they did not sin... but the father Hiel was the one who Rebuild the city of Jericho... and the curse falls on the first born and the younger son...

We need to BREAK THE WRONG FOUNDATION OUR PARENTS REBUILD during their time... Sometimes we suffer pain based on the mistakes they did by provoking God principles.. Joshua pronounced the curse and Hiel rebuild the city and his children suffer because they are on the wrong FOUNDATION..

LASTLY I DEUTERONOMY the word of God says.. Deuteronomy 18:9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
Deuteronomy 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
Deuteronomy 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deuteronomy 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

LET US ALLOW THE LIGHT TO SHINE AND DARKNESS GO WHEN WE BUILD OUR FOUNDATION ON THE ROCK...

St. John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the *darkness comprehended it not.*
STAY BLESSED

*HERE IS THE TEACHING TODAY*
A REPROBATE MIND
Text: Romans 1:28
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” (KJV)

“When God Is Rejected, the Mind Is Abandoned”

Romans chapter 1 is not merely a list of sins—it is a diagnosis of a spiritual condition.

Paul is showing us how a society, a person, or a heart collapses when God is deliberately pushed out. Verse 28 is the climax of that downward spiral.
This verse teaches a sobering truth:

When people consistently reject God, God eventually allows them to live with the consequences of that rejection.

1. “They Did Not Like to Retain God in Their Knowledge”
This is not ignorance—it is willful rejection.
They knew God (Romans 1:21)
They refused God
They decided God was unnecessary, unwanted, or inconvenient

This is the first evil practice:
👉 The intentional removal of God from the mind, morals, and decision-making.
A reprobate mind does not begin with madness.
It begins with dislike for God’s authority.

2. “God Gave Them Over” — Divine Judgment by Permission
This is one of the most frightening phrases in Scripture.
God does not force sin into anyone’s heart.
Instead, judgment comes when God steps back.
He removes restraint
He removes conviction
He removes clarity
This is not God being cruel—
This is God honoring their choice.

👉 The worst judgment is not fire—it is freedom without God.

3. What Is a Reprobate Mind?
The word reprobate means:
Disqualified
Corrupted
Failing the test
Unable to discern right from wrong

A reprobate mind:
Calls evil good and good evil
Loses moral shame
Justifies wickedness
Celebrates what God condemns
This is why the verse says:
“to do those things which are not convenient”
Meaning: unnatural, improper, and morally twisted

4. The Reprobate Mind as an Evil Practice
A reprobate mind is not merely a condition—it becomes a practice of evil.
Evil thinking produces evil living
Corrupt belief produces corrupt behavior
Darkened minds produce destructive actions
This includes:
Sexual immorality
Violence
Deception
Hatred of righteousness
Pride in sin
Mocking holiness

👉 The tragedy is not just doing evil, but losing the ability to recognize it as evil.
5. A Warning and a Call
Romans 1:28 is a warning, not a hopeless sentence.
As long as:
Conviction still exists
Repentance is possible
The heart can still hear truth

👉 There is hope
The reprobate mind is not the starting point—it is the end result of continual rejection.

Conclusion
This verse calls the Church to:
Guard the mind
Love the truth
Retain God in our knowledge
Preach repentance with compassion
Because once God is removed from the mind,
evil no longer feels evil—and that is the greatest danger of all.

Romans 1:28 (KJV)
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.”

1. Rejecting God Leads to Moral Darkness
A reprobate mind begins when people refuse to keep God in their thinking. This is not ignorance, but rebellion.

Supporting Scripture:
Proverbs 1:29 – “For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD.”
Romans 1:21 – “They became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
When God is rejected, the mind becomes dark.
2. God’s Judgment: Being Given Over
When repentance is continually refused, God allows people to follow their chosen path.
Supporting Scripture:
Psalm 81:11–12 – “So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust.”
Hosea 4:17 – “Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.”
The most fearful judgment is when God steps back.
3. The Reprobate Mind Produces Evil Practice
A reprobate mind cannot judge right from wrong. Sin becomes acceptable, and righteousness is mocked.
Supporting Scripture:
Isaiah 5:20 – “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil.”
2 Timothy 3:1–5 – “In the last days perilous times shall come.”
Evil actions flow from a corrupted mind.
4. There Is Still Hope Through Repentance
God’s warning is meant to lead us back, not destroy us.
Supporting Scripture:
Ezekiel 18:30 – “Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions.”
2 Corinthians 3:17 – “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
As long as the heart can respond, grace is still available.
Conclusion
To avoid a reprobate mind, we must:
Retain God in our knowledge
Love truth
Walk in obedience
Romans 12:2 – “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
