G2G, Fellowship & Fun

On Friday evening 4 September, the young people of Riversdale Central Congregation gathered for a wonderful G2G filled with fun, fellowship, games and, of course, a good old braai!

Before the evening’s activities got underway, the young people took time to visit one of our beloved senior members, Sister Swartz, who celebrated her 85th birthday.

It was a beautiful opportunity to honour and celebrate her, while sharing some special moments together across generations.

The young people were accompanied by the Rector Shepherd Jan Swarts, whose presence and guidance added to the meaningful evening.

What a wonderful reminder that fellowship is not only about having fun together, but also about caring, connecting and celebrating one another.

What a wonderful and inspiring day of music, fellowship and youthful energy!
The Oakdale and Riversdale Central Congregations joined hands on Saturday for a memorable Recorder Jamboree, creating a beautiful platform for participants to showcase their musical talents and share in the joy of making music together.

A special highlight was the young people taking on the role of conductors for the various performances. Their confidence, enthusiasm and dedication were truly inspiring to witness.

There is something special about seeing young people from two congregations working together, learning from one another and growing side by side. Through music, friendships are strengthened, talents are developed and new opportunities are created.

The Jamboree was more than just a concert ,it was a celebration of teamwork, growth, fellowship and the wonderful gift of music.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day such a memorable success.

Training for Sunday School Coordinators | Amalienstein Congregation

On Sunday, 23 August 2026, the Sunday School Coordinators of the Riversdale District gathered at Amalienstein Congregation. They first attended the divine service, after which Sister Caylene Joubert facilitated a training session.

The session provided a valuable opportunity for learning, sharing and strengthening their commitment to serving and nurturing our children in Sunday School.

A blessed and enriching time was experienced by all.

Amalienstein Congregation | Riversdale District

On Sunday, 23 August 2026, the rectors of the Riversdale District cluster travelled to Amalienstein Congregation, the furthest point in the district , approximately 103 km from Riversdale.

Shepherd Jan Swarts conducted the divine service, with Priest Andrew Lawerlot called to serve alongside him.

The Bible text was taken from Exodus 20:12 (NKJV):
“Honor your father and your mother.”

The message:

God is pleased when parents and children have a good relationship with one another.

Also present at the divine service were all the Sunday School Coordinators of the district, who had gathered for a training session.

As an initial initiative by District Rector Priest Grandvin Joseph, the rectors also conducted soul-care visits. Following blessed and meaningful encounters with members in their homes, the rectors travelled back to Riversdale, grateful for a day filled with fellowship, and spiritual enrichment.

Apostle Jacques Cronje Visits Kwanokuthula Congregation, Riversdale District.

TAKE COURAGE — IT IS I

The Apostle emphasised that when Christ is near, fear has no final word.

During the service, the Rector of Riversdale South Congregation, Priest Abe Kamfer, was called upon to serve alongside the Apostle.

A special highlight of the Divine Service was the celebration of Holy Sealing, during which 12 souls received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Following the closing prayer and benediction, the choir beautifully concluded the Divine Service. Thereafter, the Apostle warmly greeted and interacted with the members, sharing precious moments of fellowship and encouragement.

A truly blessed and memorable evening in the presence of God.
