In Exodus 12, the blood of a spotless lamb meant the difference between death and deliverance. Centuries later, Jesus transformed the Passover meal into a promise of something greater: His own body broken and His blood poured out to secure our redemption. The scarlet thread of God’s relentless pursuit runs from Egypt’s doorposts to the cross of Calvary.
The Lamb who was slain is the Saviour who sets us free!

What does it take for a holy God to rescue a guilty people?

In Exodus 12, the blood of a spotless lamb meant the difference between death and deliverance. Centuries later, Jesus transformed the Passover meal into a promise of something greater: His own body broken and His blood poured out to secure our redemption. The scarlet thread of God’s relentless pursuit runs from Egypt’s doorposts to the cross of Calvary.

This past Sunday, we continued our series, God’s Relentless Pursuit. In this sermon, we looked at Genesis 22.

What kind of God would ask Abraham to sacrifice his beloved son, and what kind of God would provide a substitute? On Mount Moriah, we glimpse the heart of God’s relentless pursuit of redemption. Isaac is spared, a substitute is provided, and the scarlet thread of redemption leads us to Jesus Christ, the beloved Son whom God gave to save sinners.

The God who provided the sacrifice is the God who relentlessly pursues us to bring us home.
