We caught up with Guy Buttery, SAMA Award winner and MCSF beneficiary.

The MCSF grant provided Guy with valuable support at an important stage of his career, enabling him to further develop his craft, pursue his creative work and take meaningful steps forward in his journey as a musician.

His SAMA Award was a celebration of the talent, dedication and hard work that had defined his career, and we were proud that MCSF support had formed part of that journey.

Guy’s story demonstrated the impact that investing in artists could have,creating opportunities, strengthening careers and helping South African talent reach greater heights.

"The programme will provide grants of up to R25 000 to 120 eligible SAMRO Full and Associate Members. Funding is intended to help cover costs associated with qualifying music-creation projects, including albums, singles, compositions, music videos and scores, subject to the fund’s criteria and guidelines."
