We believe that freedom is not a concept or a philosophy but a place from which we want students to live. We aim to create an environment where students encounter Christ and experience the freedom to live out their destiny. A student who is walking in freedom has the heart to reach out a
nd liberate others to live in this freedom. We want to be a generation who is free to live out the purposes for which we were created by God. We recognise that Wits is our community and we want our community to be impacted by God’s Word, presence and power. Wits is an intellectual hub for South Africa and Africa and is home to students we believe will have positions of influence. We have a unique opportunity to reach students from various backgrounds and to touch one of these students is to touch their community. God’s touch on a single life can resonate throughout generations to come. Our heart, therefore, is to impact, reach and influence our university, the communities around it, our city, our nation and ultimately, Africa. The various channels we use to equip these students are discipleship, connect groups, Grow evenings and Sunday services.
