Resurrect Life/APTsec - DAILY LIFESTREAM – 17 June 2026
Exodus 2:13-14 The next day he went back and saw two Hebrew men fighting. He said to the one who was in the wrong, “Why are you beating up a fellow Hebrew?” The man answered, “Who made you our ruler and judge? Are you going to kill me just as you killed that Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and said to himself, “People have found out what I have done.” FREEDOM NOT BY SIN, BUT BY REPENTANCE. God knows our sin is not His way to bring freedom. Repentance and enterprising for Him is. Moses was 'bust' by his own people he needed to help. In their stress, they would sell him out and did. So many young South Africans are equally caught in life compromise and spiritual compromise, caught in their sin which even their own people will 'bust' or 'sell them out' for. For God is not like us to take human or worldly sides. The Living God is holy, and He is only approached in repentance from our human sin and failure.

Exodus 2:12 Moses looked all around, and when he saw that no one was watching, he killed the Egyptian and hid his body in the sand. DESPERATE SIN LOSES, SO SERVE THE LIVING GOD. Moses had seen the suffering of his people. He'd been able to get on because he'd been saved by God using the princess daughter of pharaoh to shield him, aided by his mother and sister. Desperation grabbed him, just as many young South Africans are grabbed by desperation into severe sin, crime and violence growing steadily worse as their plus 61% unemployment level increases further. Not just young people, it so many of them. Sin is sin. Moses stealthily murdered the murderer of one of his people, a desperate 'take sides' kind of act. Now he was committed, but not in faith balance or God-led vision. He needed to find the Living God, and find his vision and way with him.

Exodus 2:11 When Moses had grown up, he went out to visit his people, the Hebrews, and he saw how they were forced to do hard labor. He even saw an Egyptian kill a Hebrew, one of Moses' own people. NO FUTURE HOPE, NO LIFE PURPOSE WITHOUT GOD. God's then people, the Hebrews were in brutal slavery without hope for the future. Their Egyptian masters trod them down to abandon the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for the lifeless stone idols that towered all around them. The Egyptian genocide targeted the next generation, all babies to be killed, so no hope for young people, just to be worked to die broken like their parents till all were gone. Except that theirs was the only Living God, and He was on the move to self-reveal and show that none could extinguish the hope and future of his people who believed in Him, especially lifeless idols. In South Africa, 50 years from 16 June 1976, our next generation are back at their second worst future hope, opportunity disappearing with the speed of corruption.
God is the Living God, He knows which way Jesus' Spirit Wind blows.

1 Corinthians 12:11-13 But it is one and the same Spirit who does all this; as he wishes, he gives a different gift to each person. Christ is like a single body, which has many parts; it is still one body, even though it is made up of different parts. In the same way, all of us, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether slaves or free, have been baptized into the one body by the same Spirit, and we have all been given the one Spirit to drink. ONE CHURCH, ONE FAITH, ONE LORD, ONE EMPOWERMENT FOR ALL. Paul preached on the gifts of the Spirit as empowerments for the growth and unity of Jesus’ Church. Ephesians 4.4-6 has his unity call: one body and one Spirit, one hope through one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all people, who is Lord of all, works through all, and is in all. The growth of Jesus’ church under the 300 years of being the inferior and persecuted faith built so much on it’s unity. How sad, then, that those ‘Pentecost-claiming’ leaders and churches who most push a ‘use’ of the gifts of the Holy Spirit today, are those whose spirituality is probably the most divisive on the plant – always breaking away and factionalising, usually under some special gifting claim. Through the evangelising and pastoral ministry of Jesus’ Church, the Holy Spirit’s first overall job is to grow Jesus faith in individuals. This is a saving, ‘empowered to overflow in ministry’ faith – empowered not for self-elevating over others, but to overflow and minister to those still to hear the gospel. Under this unity, search out your skills and gifting and training to overflow. Jesus’ gospel and Jesus’ gifts of the Holy Spirit are overflowing. Our own faith and own churches consistently need this overflowing empowerment to those still to find faith.

1 Corinthians 12:10 The Spirit gives one person the power of... the gift of speaking God's message; and to yet another, the ability to tell the difference between gifts that come from the Spirit and those that do not. To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what is said. A GIFT OF THE SPIRIT IS NOT A KIND OF ‘POSSESSED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT’ OVERRIDE OF A USER’S MIND. As long as humans have been religious, many have claimed a kind of ‘spirit possession consciousness override’ by which they operate, be that spirit an idol spirit, ancestral spirit, nature spirit, animalistic spirit and so on. This is the ‘cult’ experience, not Jesus’ Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 14.26-33 shows that the gifts are under the control of the user, and not anything like cultic ‘possession’ - in particular the ‘gospel communicating gifts like preaching, prophecy and tongues. The Holy Spirit job through gifts is to grow Jesus’ church, not a cult.

To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what is said. SPEAKING IN TONGUES AND INTERPRETATION. Speaking in tongues began as a mission gifting – the apostles and other gathered Jesus people spoke God’s praises in languages which were understood by onlookers from a globalised representation. The Book of Acts shows that this pattern continued as God’s Kairos Kingdom in Jesus’ gospel spread across the Greco-Roman empire, and in areas beyond it. The Spirit has refined this gifting in mission: skilled language translators of Hebrew and Greek into the languages of peoples receiving gospel mission has made Jesus’ gospel the most widespread spirituality on the planet, the Bible consistently the best seller book of all time. Billions have heard Jesus’ gospel in their own languages, and come into the Jesus people globally.

To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what is said. PROCLAMATION AND DISCERNMENT OF SPIRITS. There is clear room for personally charismatic preachers of the gospel, with the obvious issue of "Is it persuasiveness and force of personality, or is it the Spirit anointing the opening of the Word clearly"? The common base for both a pastor or preacher of charismatic personality and a teacher in Spirit gifting is the accuracy of application of the Bible Word. No pastor, teacher or preacher of credibility strays from Bible measure that the Old Testament prophesies and gives 'type' of messiah Jesus and the New Testament tells us how. Charisma trying to claim 'new revelation' is not under Spirit gifting.

1 Corinthians 12:9 One and the same Spirit gives faith to one person, while to another person he gives the power to heal... one person the power to work miracles... MINISTRY OF FAITH AND HEALING. Use of a gift is also trainable: Paul's ministry included faith and healing, often miraculously. Faith is that God acted in Jesus, who is alive, so acting for us. An earthquake can causally coincide with being freed from a jail (Acts 16.16-34) after it exposes a false spirit. Healing can occur under faith action (Acts 14.8-10), yet in company with Luke a Greek trained doctor who witnessed and wrote down the miracles through Paul. Our time is the same. Jesus did not heal everyone who was sick, the healing gift is not for that. Trained, skilled doctors of medical science charging fees, are general healing ministry recognized, but healing under a faith context also occurs, not by calendar appointment, but faith gifting.

1 Corinthians 12:8 The Spirit gives one person a message full of wisdom, while to another person the same Spirit gives a message full of knowledge. INSIGHT IN TRAINING UNDER HOLY SPIRIT ACTION. Mainly Pentecostal churches want all these gifts to have 'Spirit channeling" "new revelation" through a disciple, usually eyes closed or fluttering, who speaks a deep spiritual message or wise saying or observation. However, the claim has unbalance, for wisdom has a long Bible measure in Job, Proverbs and more. Prophecy has a long Bible measure from Moses to

Malachi. Wisdom must include that God's presence in acts of salvation like Exodus, can mean what is wise in the world is not in God's church (12 vs 2)

"You know that while you were still heathen, you were led astray in many ways to the worship of lifeless idols." Word of Wisdom. Prophecy must have a "futurology waiting for fulfilment among humans" to be real and come true (Deut 18.21-22). Interaction between Spirit depth relationship and scriptural revealed Word must occur, or the gift is not genuine or wise.
