Sunday School Teachers Cross-Booking – Kuils River District

On 16 August 2026, the Sunday School Teachers of the Kuils River District came together for a special cross-booking, creating an opportunity for teachers to visit and participate in Sunday School at another congregation.

Our congregation was graced with the presence of teachers from Voëlvlei congregation.

The morning was filled with fellowship, learning, encouragement and the sharing of ideas. The cross-booking allowed teachers to experience different approaches to teaching, engage with one another and gain fresh perspectives on how we can continue to nurture and guide our children in their faith.

Beyond the lesson itself, the occasion provided an opportunity for teachers to strengthen relationships across the district, support one another in their important calling and reflect on the privilege of working with our children.

On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, Our District Rector, Priest Robert Fredericks officiated the midweek divine service.

Our Bibleword was taken from Matthew 10 : 40 (NKJV)

"He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me."

Our Bible Reading from John 20:19–23 was delivered by our sister Chrizelda Buys.

Our District Rector emphasized the following:

-To receive the Apostles and ministers is to receive Christ Himself. It is the ministry, not the person, that counts.
- To receive the Apostles is to listen to the gospel, receive the sacraments, and accept the absolution.
- The Apostles teach us to keep faith despite all spiritual struggles, and to grow into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

After the closing prayer and benediction the congregation rended a hymn from the english hymnal to bring the divine service to a blessed end, thereafter District Rector greeted the congregants.

Everyone left inspired by the word and sacrament to walk this path of faith until the end.
