We’re continuing our mission collection for Lutheran World Relief School Kits! 📚✏️

Earlier this year, we began gathering supplies, and thanks to your generosity, we’ve made great progress. Now we’re working to complete even more kits before our Sunday School year wraps up!

The cards in the photos below show the items still missing in order to complete each kit. We invite families to donate supplies or contribute financially so we can purchase the remaining items.

Each School Kit includes:
• 4 notebooks (70-sheet, wide or college ruled; 8" x 10½")
• 1 ruler (30 cm or with cm/inches)
• 1 pencil sharpener
• 1 pair of blunt scissors
• 5 unsharpened #2 pencils (with erasers)
• 5 black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink)
• 1 box of 16 or 24 crayons
• 1 eraser (2½")

These simple supplies make a big difference for children around the world. Thank you for helping us share God’s love in such a tangible way! 💛

We gathered this week for a special Palm Sunday lesson.

First up was reading the story of Palm Sunday in our SPARK Bible. Next, we made our own parade with Jesus walking on palm branches and coats we set down. Then everyone got to ride their own donkeys on the parade obstacle course. Finally, we participated in a palm branch relay race and finished up with a craft of the parade.

Have a wonderful Easter! We will see you back for Sunday School on Sunday, April 12th.

During this week’s lesson we learned about Jesus claiming He is God’s son.

We had some of the kids read two different stories about “proof” that Jesus was God’s son. We also used a straw to blow a balloon across the room, and talked about how even though we can’t always see everything (like air) as proof, there are other signs.

This week, we listened to the story of the blind man Jesus healed - how Jesus put mud on his eyes, and when the man washed it off, he could see again. Jesus has the power to heal! We played with balloons to show that even when you can’t see power at work, you can still feel it - just like the static from rubbing a balloon on our clothes. We tried building a puzzle from the blank side and saw how much easier it became once we could actually see the picture. We also played a tag game where we felt what it’s like to have limitations, and how good it feels to be “healed” and able to play again. Jesus has the power to heal us, too!

We had such a hilarious and surprising Bible story this week! We learned about the moment when God used Balaam’s donkey to talk to get his attention. So of course, we had to act it out by riding around on our trusty pool‑noodle donkeys.

We talked about how God wants to get our attention too, because God has so many good things to tell us. We even made “donkey kazoos” and discovered it’s pretty hard to hear anything important with all that noise going on.

Then we played Pin the Tail on the Donkey, and with each tail we paused to listen for something God might be saying to us, like: “I’m with you when you’re nervous.” “I love watching you learn new things.” “I’m smiling when you share.”

Such a fun week, and a great reminder that God is always speaking…we just have to slow down and listen.

We all face some pretty big things in life, and on our own they can feel scary. In our Bible story about the twelve spies, the people in Canaan really were bigger than the Israelites, but the Israelites forgot something important: God was with them, and God is bigger than our fears. When we face big, scary things, we can remember that too.

This week we made “weights” by filling bottles with sand to remind us, “God is strong enough to lift your fears, just like you can lift your weight.” We used magnifying glasses to see how huge our fears can look, and then we knocked those fears down by throwing bean bags and balls at cups labeled with different worries. Knocking them over was a blast!

This week’s lesson focused on Jesus not being afraid of hard questions. We played a game about answering questions. We also made wind chimes to show that even when we can't see something (like the wind) the answer may come to us.💨

Our 3rd-5th grade students also spent some time exploring the features of their Deep Blue bibles and practicing looking up passages.

God is our safe place! ❤️ During our lesson this week, we listed people, places and things that keep us safe. We played a game to see if we could keep the tennis ball in our safe circle and then wrote thank you cards to someone who helps us feel safe.

This week we introduced a new mission project. We will be putting together school kits for Lutheran World Relief. More information is available at the table in the Fellowship Hall. Thank you for your support!

Our lesson focused on Mary and Martha. We talked about the importance of friendship, and made friendship bracelets to remind us that Jesus is always our #1 friend. ❤️

Welcome back to The Generosity Path, a journey of meaningful steps toward a deeper, more intentional understanding of giving. As we enter our final week, we turn to Step Three: Growing Along the Way: The Journey of Generosity, where we explore how each step we take leads us closer to a life shaped by generosity. May your reflections inspire growth, courage, and a deeper connection to the call of giving.
