Many people comfort themselves with the thought that everyone will go to Heaven, be welcomed by God, and have eternal life. The foremost authority on such matters is the Lord Jesus Christ who came down from Heaven, to in His own words, testify to the truth. In today's lesson, Jesus explains what's really going on and how it affects the future of every person. May God bless His word to you.

The story of Zaccheus is more than a tale of a wee little man who climbed up a tree to see Jesus. The story actually began long ago when Zaccheus was marked out for salvation. Jesus, knowing all things, addressed him as though He knew him. Zaccheus responded as all who are called according to His purposes respond. May God bless His word to you.

Blind Bartimaeus was the only one in the noisy crowd that could see who Jesus truly was. He saw with faith. He saw Jesus as the King promised by God in the Old Testament. Jesus acknowledged the poor beggar's faith by miraculously healing his eyesight, and moreover saying that his faith was even unto salvation. It's a wonderful true story that should steady our trust in Jesus, even as Bartimaeus trusted in Him. May God bless His word to you.

Lately, the scenes and lessons have reflected the divine principal that states, “the first shall be last, and the last shall be first”. In today's lesson, that principal is raised to its highest level as the One who, “will come to have first place in everything”, becomes the least of all, that He might become the greatest of all. May God bless His word to you.

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” (so says God in Isaiah 55:8-9). This truth is proven as the scriptures unfold God's revelation from beginning to end. Our Lord crystallized this truth in an axiom saying, “many who are first will be last; and the last, first.” He then illustrated the unworldly principles of the kingdom of God with a story captured in Matthew 20. May God bless His word to you.

Today we meet the man known as “The Rich Young Ruler”. He ran to Jesus, but when he learned what it takes to gain eternal life, he went away grieving. Instead of the eternal life he sought, he came face to face with his own spiritual death and inability to overcome it. Don't be like him. May God bless His word to you.

The account of little children coming to Jesus seems tranquil on the surface, but it was not. Nowhere in scripture is Christ pictured having a flare up of intense divine anger as is recorded here. He becomes indignant. The Greek word means to be incensed, or physically moved with anger. He's angry with His disciples no less. This is an object lesson in the gospel. May God bless His word to you.

When Jesus' adversaries questioned His view of marriage and divorce, Jesus was not only consistent, but consistent all the way back to creation in Genesis. God's view of marriage is first revealed there as the pinnacle of creation. Earthly marriage, when observed faithfully, points to the pinnacle of a new creation yet to come in the consummation of all things. The marriage of the Lamb and His bride. That's how wonderful God views marriage. May God bless His word to you.

The gospel of Jesus Christ stands apart from every other religion. Even Judaism. In Galatians 1:13-15, the Apostle reminds his readers that he used to follow Jewish religion more zealously than others. The statement, “But when God...” alerts the reader to something far better. In this message, Kyle Hess explores Judaism's errors. Appropriately, on Father's Day, the text reminds us of Father's influence in life's most important matter. May God bless His word to you.
