Today in The Episcopal Church we commemorate Alexander Crummel, a priest whose ministry spanned more than half a century and three continents. He labored to build institutions that would serve Black people and provide scope for the exercises of their gifts in leadership and creativity. The Union of Black Episcopalians is an outgrowth of that work.
