St Paul's Episcopal Church_Wilmington NC

St Paul's Episcopal Church_Wilmington NC St. Paul’s is a church where we WORSHIP - WELCOME - WITNESS the Good News of Jesus Christ. We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.

We Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As constituent members of the Anglican Communion in the United States, we are descendants of and partners with the Church of England and the Scottish Episcopal Church, and are part of the third largest group of Christians in the world. We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose li

fe, death, and resurrection saved the world. We have a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God, and can be expressed by all people in our church, regardless of sexual identity or orientation.

What a beautiful evening at Long Leaf Park! The weather cooperated and provided the perfect backdrop for our parish picnic. We shared lots of great food, fun and fellowship. Special thanks to the Parish Life Team, the organizers of the plant swap, and our youth who led the group in Compline.

WELCOMING OUR NEW CURATE
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Nicholas P. Kohlmann as the Curate of St. Paul’s, beginning Sunday, June 14.

Nick joins us with an impressive breadth of ministry experience. This spring, he will graduate from Duke Divinity School with a Master of Divinity and a Certificate in Anglican Studies. For the past two years, he has served as a seminarian and Youth Ministry Leader at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Durham, NC. Prior to his time in seminary, Nick served as the Minister for Youth and Young Adults at Grace Church Cathedral in Charleston (2018–2023) and has a long history with Camp Trinity, most recently serving as Chaplain to the camp and the Trinity Center staff.

Since February, our Search Committee—Barbara Ellington Banks, Rhonda Stroud, Meaghan Thomas, Leon Tillery, and myself—has worked diligently and prayerfully to find the right fit for our parish. We are confident that Nick is that person.

Please join us for Nick’s ordination to the diaconate at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 2, at St. Mary’s in Kinston. All are welcome to attend this joyous milestone.

Nick and his wife, Maddie, are thrilled to be moving to Wilmington and look forward to becoming part of the St. Paul’s family. Stay tuned for more information, including a note from Nick in a few weeks!

Faithfully,

The Reverend Caleb J. Lee, Rector

We have new front doors thanks to stein_stevens and the generosity of an anonymous donor. These double red doors are the face of St. Paul’s on Market Street and a powerful symbol of our Episcopal faith, welcoming all to enter our sacred home and hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Come and see our new doors and stay for church!
