JAM Children's Ministry

JAM Children's Ministry Our goal is to focus on our children establishing their identity in Christ. We are elated you are interested in our children's ministry!

Here at Riverwalk, our goal is to assist parents in teaching their children biblical principals. We refer to our children's ministry as J.A.M ("Jesus And Me"). We will help children explore and wrestle the questions such as "Who is our Creator?," "What does God/Jesus have to do with me?," "Who is Jesus?," "I believe in Jesus, so what?," and similar questions. It is important that we understand and

recognize that the children and youth are not separate from our collective congregational body. The church family is responsible for helping its families plant and water the seeds of faith in their children, as well as outreaching to other families to do the same. With that being said, we believe working together in the children and youth ministries alongside the parents and therefore we work under a common vision and mission for the family, youth, and children ministries. Vision: To see families rested and restored through the shepherding of King Jesus. Mission: Guiding our families by the help of God's grace, peace, and sovereignty.

Bring them anyways 🤗

Bring them to church. Saturate their lives with the Word of God. Even if they lay on the floor. Even if they need 437 goldfish and a sucker to be quiet. Even if you stand in the back swaying back and forth holding them. Even when it’s hard. Even when when your row looks like a small hurricane just came through. Bring them to church. Let them see you worship. Let them see you pray. Let them see you running toward the Savior ... because if they don’t see and learn these things from you, who are they going to learn them from?

The world will teach them it’s not a priority. The world will teach them it’s okay to not to pick up their Bibles. The world will direct them so far off course, confuse them, and misinform them that just being “good” is enough. The world won’t teach them about Jesus. That’s our job.

Bring them to church.

Tuesday Tidbit: We are equipping children while they are in their present positions and preparing them for their future positions of influence in God’s kingdom.

On Sunday our kids learned about Samuel anointing David as king (1st Samuel 16:1-13). He was an unlikely candidate, in fact he was the last of Jesse’s sons to be brought to Samuel. But God chose him to be the future king.

God has called each of our children for a “position”, we often think we are preparing them for the future and we forget about the now, but God has them in a position now. They are sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, students, friends, grandchildren, athletes, actors, actresses, artists, etc. We are helping them in their current positions. We aren’t just leading, guiding, and parenting them for a future, but for the present as well. And yes, of course they are being prepared for their positions in the future. How exciting to watch God work in and through their lives.

They are impacting the lives of those around them now and prayerfully they will continue to do so as they grow and mature spiritually.

Keep speaking God’s word into your little Kingdom workers. 😉
