JAM Children's Ministry

JAM Children's Ministry Our goal is to focus on our children establishing their identity in Christ. We are elated you are interested in our children's ministry!

Here at Riverwalk, our goal is to assist parents in teaching their children biblical principals. We refer to our children's ministry as J.A.M ("Jesus And Me"). We will help children explore and wrestle the questions such as "Who is our Creator?," "What does God/Jesus have to do with me?," "Who is Jesus?," "I believe in Jesus, so what?," and similar questions. It is important that we understand and

recognize that the children and youth are not separate from our collective congregational body. The church family is responsible for helping its families plant and water the seeds of faith in their children, as well as outreaching to other families to do the same. With that being said, we believe working together in the children and youth ministries alongside the parents and therefore we work under a common vision and mission for the family, youth, and children ministries. Vision: To see families rested and restored through the shepherding of King Jesus. Mission: Guiding our families by the help of God's grace, peace, and sovereignty.

This week we’re praying over angry or argumentative hearts. 🙏

Because some mornings start with stomping feet or raised voices…and mama, you’re not alone in that. 😅

Whether your kids are bickering with each other or struggling to manage big emotions, these 5 prayer points are for you. Speak them over your children this week and watch God move in their hearts.

💛 Save this post and come back every week for a new theme to pray over your kids. Glad you’re here, mama! 💕

Family Activities for Holy Week 🤍

Palm Sundaes – Make ice cream sundaes with fun toppings to celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. You can also use yogurt and fruit.

Praise Party – Turn on your favorite worship songs and have a joyful family dance party together.

Movie Night – Watch movies like The King of Kings or Light of the World.

Foot Washing – Wash one another’s feet and talk about how Jesus calls us to love and serve others.

Communion Together – Share communion as a family and read Matthew 26:26–29.

Resurrection Garden – Create a resurrection garden together (I have tutorials on my page!).

Resurrection Rolls - Use cinnamon sugar, butter, large marshmallows and crescent rolls to make these. After cooking, the rolls with be empty because the marshmallow melts. You can follow more details recipes online.

Weight of Sin Basket – Fill a basket with rocks as you talk about the weight of sin (Hebrews 12:1–3). Cover it with a red cloth on Good Friday to represent the blood of Jesus. On Easter Sunday, remove the cloth to reveal an empty basket. Jesus has taken the weight of our sin through the cross.

Sunrise Celebration – Watch the sunrise on Easter morning and celebrate that Jesus is risen and gives us new life! ☀️

Bring them anyways 🤗

Bring them to church. Saturate their lives with the Word of God. Even if they lay on the floor. Even if they need 437 goldfish and a sucker to be quiet. Even if you stand in the back swaying back and forth holding them. Even when it’s hard. Even when when your row looks like a small hurricane just came through. Bring them to church. Let them see you worship. Let them see you pray. Let them see you running toward the Savior ... because if they don’t see and learn these things from you, who are they going to learn them from?

The world will teach them it’s not a priority. The world will teach them it’s okay to not to pick up their Bibles. The world will direct them so far off course, confuse them, and misinform them that just being “good” is enough. The world won’t teach them about Jesus. That’s our job.

Bring them to church.
