On Saturday, July 11, members of Dunn’s Corners Community Church, Presbyterian (DCCCP) joined South County Habitat for Humanity (SCHH) for a special Adopt-A-Day build—bringing what was their largest group of construction volunteers to date. As part of this milestone, the church also presented a $5,000 donation to support the building of safe, affordable homes in the community.
This meaningful day celebrated a partnership spanning more than 25 years. DCCCP first partnered with SCHH in 1998, helping to construct one of the organization’s earliest homes in Westerly. Since then, church members have remained dedicated volunteers—regularly participating in build days and supporting Habitat’s mission through financial contributions and community partnerships.
“For more than 25 years, this partnership has been a meaningful way for our congregation to live out our faith,” shared church representatives. “By volunteering alongside future homeowners and investing in affordable housing, we are helping address one of Washington County’s greatest needs while strengthening fellowship within our own church. Our slogan, ‘a place to call home,’ reflects our deeply held belief that everyone deserves stability, dignity, and belonging—and this work with Habitat brings that belief to life.”
The July 11 build day served as both a celebration of this enduring relationship and a continued commitment to supporting families on their path to homeownership.
