Hi everyone, as many of you know I’ve been apart of The International Order of the Rainbow girls for some time now and we’re currently selling popcorn and snacks for Westerly Assmebly #7 so we can have funds not only to do our fun activities but also to hold events to teach leadership skills and community service skills! Good afternoon!

We have been asked to volunteer at the ice cream booth again at the Washington County Fair. 8/14-8/18
The only day we won’t be volunteering is 8/17 for Grand Officers day.

For those of you who have heard the news, Dawn and Mike have been in a bike accident (see the prior post). Here’s a link to help them with meals as Mike will be out of work for a while, all the help we can give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ladies I am writing to inform you (if you haven't heard) Dawn and Mike were in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday night.

Dawn has a broken arm. Mike had surgery to repair 2 broken wrists. .

I got to see Dawn today and she looks good. I didn't get to see Mike ad RI hospital only let's 2 people in.

Dorothy will be setting up an app to help donate meals as Mike will definitely be out of work for a while. Once I get the link I will share it.

We are selling some yummy holiday treats.
2 dozen chocolate chips or 2 dozen peanut butter or 1 dozen of each for $15. Also, for $3 each, milk chocolate or dark chocolate stirring in spoons with or with out peppermint. Fresh baked and ready for pick up on December 4th.

The day before Halloween, the assembly finish up making mini mummy piñatas out of toilet paper rolls and brought the to the Royal Nursing home and the Westerly Health Center. I Annie, Ieasha, Jacqueline, Z, you all amazed me with the residents. Each resident received a mummy. These young people were so excited to greet each resident with a smile, helping hands, and listening ears. After finishing the home that we had chosen to visit, we had mummies left over. These young people decided (almost insisted) that we find another place to hand the rest out. They brainstorm places and wanted to visit more elders. I called the Health Center and they were excited to have the assembly. We has exactly enough to give every resident at the Health Center a mummy. So incredibly proud of the Assembly. Reverse truck or treating was much more than a success.

Thank you to everyone who support this project the girls will be able to make a great donation of items to the living closet. To the winners, I will be at the Grand Assembly meeting on Wednesday at Doric with your items.

We are having a Handmade/homemade raffle to raise money to purchase items for the Living Closet at the Johnny Cake Center. The closet helps with items such as soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, paper goods and feminine products.

Entries are $2 each or 10 for $15. There are 29 items to win. Facebook Pay Dawn Mitchell Winters, venmo Dawn-MitchellWinters or pm for an address to send a check. Under the picture of the item you want, put the number of entries you wish to have. Good luck!

After our last meeting, we had a great time making blankets or should they be called wankets (wearable blankets). Lol!
We also packaged up coupons for the Family Support Centers at overseas military bases. We picked a Navy Base in Spain this time and Two Army Bases in Peru last mailing. Coupons can be used up to 6 months past their expiration date in overseas commissaries. We have send several 100 as of now but would love for that number to grow.
Please save the coupons from your newspapers or from direct mailing. We would be happy to pick them up or if you are at our hall, place them in our coupon box on our collections table.

The members of Westerly Assembly were so happy to be together again. They visited Mom Hope's farm, had lunch and went for a hike. Thanks Mom Hope Mitchell for hosting us and thank you Dad Daniel Rzewuski and Mom Kiya Thompson for coming along.
