Pilgrim's Baptist Church "Turning Ordinary People Into Extraordinary Followers Of Jesus Christ"

Join us Sundays:
10:00 This is the first and great commandment. Worship
2. Ministry
3.

The purpose of our church is summarized in a single sentence based on two key scriptures:

“WE BELIEVE A GREAT COMMITMENT TO THE GREAT COMMANDMENT AND THE GREAT COMMISSION WILL GROW A GREAT CHURCH!”

The Great Commandment: “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neig

hbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40

The Great Commission: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you...” Matthew 28:19-20

Our Church is Built on five foundational Biblical Purposes found in the verses above.

1. Evangelism
4. Fellowship
5. Discipleship

A Church blessed by God must have people who care about that which is most important to God. These purposes sum up why we exist as a church and it is our desire to build and maintain a ministry that seeks to fulfill these five purposes in a balanced way. We at The Pilgrim's Baptist Church love you and desire that you come and be our guest and discover the difference in a Church Purposed for God. You will not hear dull, dry religious services, but the Word of God communicated in a practical and relevant way that helps people to live in victory. You will meet, not perfect people, but people just like yourself who believe that there is more to life than just living; people who believe that a defined faith in Jesus is an essential ingredient for a meaningful life now and in eternity to come. We are committed to meeting your needs so bring your family or just bring yourself.

Yesterday we began a two week mini-series about discouragement and depression from Psalm 42.
We pray that the first part was an encouragement to all in attendance, and we hope to see you again this Sunday as we conclude the mini-series.

"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance." Psalm 42:5

Due to the snow and road conditions, as well as the conditions of the church parking lot, we have decided to cancel our 4th Wednesday Prayer Service tomorrow night. We want to keep everyone safe, and we want to ensure no one feels pressure to travel in these conditions.
We look forward to gathering together again on Sunday morning!

We ask that our church family would continue to pray for Brown University.

Pray for the students, the faculty and staff, and the families who have been deeply affected by this tragedy. We pray for comfort for those who are afraid, healing for the hurting, and wisdom for the first responders and those making decisions.

"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted."
Matthew 5:4
