Join us as we dedicate the Anne M. Alexander Women's Recovery Center on Thursday, June 4 at 4:00 PM. This is a day we have looked forward to and prayed about for years. Last year we met close to 150 women in housing crisis, and while we were able to feed them or connect them to resources, many remained without access to recovery services in Marathon County. One woman in December told us how she had sent her daughter to live with someone else, was alone on the street, and wished our Recovery program was open.

Thanks to the generous support of so many, to her and others we can finally say ‘yes, we are here to move you from crisis toward success’. We are grateful for the support so many of you gave on the campaign and otherwise. You are a part of this work too.

Thank you to our friends at the Wausau Early Birds Rotary Club for the generous donation this morning! 🙏

Praise the Lord!
We not only had a wonderful turnout at this morning's National Day of Prayer Breakfast - we fed 250 people! - we also had a generous amount of food to deliver to our friends at Bridge Street Mission. It was truly a "loaves and fishes" gift. Thank you to all who blessed us with your presence and donations - we look forward to celebrating with you again next year!

Last week was the bedroom furniture delivery for our Women's Recovery Center.

Our facility manager, Dan worked with residents in our facility management vocational track along with volunteers from Progressive Insurance, Builders FirstSource, and Modern Woodmen of America to assemble the furniture, ensuring the dorms are ready for our new clients.

A big thank you to our volunteers! Your time and generosity are SO greatly appreciated!

Our desired opening date is June 1st... Keep an eye out for more information as time draws near.

These men made the decision to take part in the life-changing curriculum here at Bridge Street Mission. A key part of life transformation is helping to identify the faulty belief systems that drive self-destructive behaviors. That is essential to begin the process of healing and recovery.

Through our program they have learned skills necessary to be healthy, contributing members of society. Some of those include learning how to challenge the lies in crisis with biblical truths, learning how to budget, and acquiring job skills through one of our vocational tracks.

Today is an exciting day for Troy.
Today he moves into his new apartment!

A little backstory for those who don't know Troy.
He was in and out of jail from a young age and battled with addiction, which had been a struggle to quit on his own.

"The first good decision I made was to apply at Bridge Street Mission, my probation officer said it would be a good place to turn my life around... And my life has never been the same since."

He joined us here at the mission and worked hard until he graduated 9 months later. While in the program, he got started at a part-time job which has turned into full-time, got a vehicle through the Wheels-to-Work program and attends Highland Community Church every Sunday.

"I am living proof that if you put your faith in Christ all things will work out for the good. I am finally starting to see my own fruit."

Help us congratulate him on this milestone!

Yesterday the Community Shelter at Bridge Street Mission was dedicated with the help of the City of Wausau, Marathon County, Scherrer Construction and the generous funding community.
We have already served 60 men and women from our unhoused population through our faithful staff and community volunteers!
