⛪ 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 our service titled "Inappropriate Laughter Fan Club" - the Rev. Brian Mason, preaching

In hospital waiting rooms. In the checkout line. In the back of the tent when you think no one can hear. Somewhere in us there’s a laugh we haven't let out — the one that says, sure, okay, more is coming. A sermon about Sarah's inappropriate laugh, and God’s endorsement of it.

We invite you to join us this summer as we relocate our services from the sanctuary to the atrium. In this bright and welcoming setting, we’ll come together for worship, shared fellowship, and deeper connection. It’s a special season to grow in community, offer encouragement to one another, and create lasting memories along the way. We look forward to experiencing it with you.

𝗪𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀! 🎉 First Universalist Unitarian Church of Wausau has been awarded a $10,000 Wausau Marathon County Impact Grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin to help restore two of our historic 1915 stained glass windows.

We're calling the project "Echoes in Glass: Restoring the Living Light of Our Historic Windows." These windows have welcomed more than a century of worshippers, weddings, and quiet moments of reflection and this grant brings us meaningfully closer to preserving them for the generations to come.

We're deeply grateful to the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin for their support and their commitment to our community. Watch this space for updates as the restoration unfolds!

Today we celebrate Flower Communion, a beloved Unitarian Universalist tradition. Each person brings a flower to create a shared bouquet – a symbol of the beauty and uniqueness each of us brings to our community. Like the flowers, no two of us are the same, and each one adds something essential to the whole.

Celebrate the beauty of Flower Communion, where each person brings a flower (often from their own garden) to place in a communal vase. Together, the flowers create a stunning bouquet that symbolizes the diversity and unity of our congregation. Just as every bloom adds to the bouquet’s charm, each of us brings unique gifts that strengthen and brighten our community.

We’re shaped by the stories we grow up inside and by the ones that challenge us, unsettle us, or invite us to grow in new directions. In this sermon, we’ll explore what happens when we meet each other with certainty instead of curiosity, and how those moments can either close people off or open the door to a deeper sense of belonging. In a time when difference so often turns into division, we’re invited to consider what it means to stay in relationship across it and how we help shape the stories people carry with them.
