At First English Lutheran we enjoyed a full morning of worship with a Pop-up Choir, Blessing of the Backpacks, and Jesus Trivia. Later in the afternoon folks and their pets gathered for a service of the Blessing of the Pets.

At the “Blessing of the Pets” everyone behaved nicely including the humans!!! If you weren’t able to join us this year mark your calendar for the last Sunday of August 2027🐾🐾🐾 and we’ll see you then.

Join us in person or online for Hymn Sing Sunday and Jesus Trivia! Bring your backpacks for a special blessing and receive a tag to attach to it. Later at 1pm come back for a blessing of the pets!

We worship at 9am Sunday morning and 6pm Thursday evenings.

A school is more than classrooms and textbooks. It is a community held together by countless acts of service, many of them performed without recognition.

As a new school year begins, we give thanks for teachers, aides, counselors, nurses, social workers, cafeteria workers, custodians, bus drivers, crossing guards, administrators, coaches, volunteers, and all who accompany children and young people each day.

May God bless their work. May they have patience when days are difficult, joy in moments of discovery, and the wisdom to notice the child who especially needs to be seen.

And may every student find places of safety, belonging, encouragement, and hope.
