Solemn Vespers and Benediction returns at the Oratory this Sunday, September 6, and continues every Sunday at 4:00 PM.

Vespers is the evening prayer of the Church and part of the Liturgy of the Hours or Divine Office. The Fathers sing Solemn Vespers in Gregorian chant.

Please join us on Sunday, September 13th at 5:00 PM for a lecture by our parishioner Brooke Fink on Reading the Sacred in Art Raphael's "Disputation of the Holy Sacrament.”

This talk will serve as an introduction to our Fall reading group on Art as a Mirror of the Divine. Details for which ate forthcoming.

This evening, at evening oratory, Br. Noah Sell, Cong. Orat. was aggregated as a triennial member of this Oratory. In the Oratory, aggregation is life-long incorporation into the congregation and signals the end of the three years of the novitiate.

Today is the feast for us of The Patronage of St. Philip Neri and recalls the day thirteen years ago when we arrived here to establish our Oratorian Community. It also commemorates the day two years ago when we celebrated the canonical er****on of the Washington Oratory. Below is the new statue of St. Philip Neri and the decree of the establishment of our Oratory.

Today is the titular feast of our church: St. Thomas, Apostle; in the traditional liturgy the Commemoration of the Translation of the Relics of St. Thomas Apostle. May God bless our parish, its priests and people.
