Redemption Hill Church

Redemption Hill Church It's all about Jesus. Join us Sundays at 9:00am or 5:00pm for worship at 400 D St SE. Redemption Hill is a community of people who love Jesus and love our city.

Under the vision and leadership of Pastor Bill Riedel, Redemption Hill was launched by a few pasionate people in August 2011. Since then God has continued to open doors as Jesus has continued to build His church. We gather weekly at 4th & D St SE for worship and our members scatter throughout the DC metro area. We have grown to have Community Groups meeting throughout the city as well as in nearby

Maryland and northern Virginia. We are excited to see what God will continue to do through us, by the power of the Holy Spirit and for the sake of His glory. Are you ready to be a part of the story?

Each week Redemption Hill Church gathers together for worship. At these gatherings you can expect times of singing and prayer, preaching from the Bible, and an opportunity to connect with others in community. Come as you are, dressed as you like, and join us on Sunday. You can expect to find a warm community and a safe place to ask questions.

Redemption Hill Church currently meets Sundays at 9:00 AM at historic Ebenezer UMC.

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.”

– Acts 2:1-11

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. – 2 Corinthians 5:21

You are tired and weary and you feel at times it is too much for you? Go back and look at your life and put it into the context of eternity. Stop and ask yourself what it all means. It is nothing but a preparatory school.
– Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Only by surrendering ourselves to Jesus will we ever find ourselves and live in true freedom.

Being a member of Redemption Hill Church is about being part of a family. All members are followers of Jesus, unified by our identity in Christ. This unity is expressed in the way we love God, fellow Christians, and our city. Members who enter into a public promise, called a covenant, with their local church are called to a higher degree of responsibility and service. At the same time, the elders and deacons are covenanted to assist members: to love and lead, provide counsel and aid, and pray for, teach, and guide them.
