Earlier today in this final day of General Conference our Conference superintendents and delegates got to spend some time meeting our new Bishop Jerry Kulah, and praying together for all our conferences in Area 5.❤️

A HISTORIC MOMENT FOR THE GLOBAL METHODIST CHURCH ✨

With overwhelming support, the 2026 General Conference has OFFICIALLY ADOPTED the Articles of Faith, affirming our Wesleyan heritage and establishing a shared expression of the faith that unites us in Jesus Christ.

Together, these Articles speak to who we are, what we believe, and the faith we carry forward as one global connection.

May we hold fast to this faith, walk together in the power of the Holy Spirit, and faithfully proclaim Jesus Christ to a world in need of His grace. 🙏🌍

🌍 General Conference Day 5 | Serving in South Africa

Yesterday, during Day 5 of General Conference, Conference Superintendent Greg West and Eric Shuey of Daybreak Church had the opportunity to participate in a VBS mission experience here in South Africa.

Alongside many Global Methodist Church volunteers from around the world, they helped serve food to nearly 800 children and participated in fun activities while sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

We are so thankful for every volunteer who gave their time to serve and for the local leaders and ministries who continue this important work in their communities.

And what a special moment captured on video from some of the children:

“Hello, Virginia! God bless you!” ❤️🌍

🌍 General Conference | Day 4 into Day 5

A few moments from our Virginia Conference family here in South Africa!

Day 4 wrapped up last night with a wonderful celebration of Africa Night, filled with food, music, dancing, and fellowship with brothers and sisters from across the globe.

As Day 5 comes to a close, we are thankful for the relationships being strengthened, the work being accomplished, and all God is doing.

Thank you for continuing to pray for our delegates, leaders, and everyone serving here in South Africa. We’re getting closer to the finish line! 🙏🌍

🌍 General Conference Updates!
Today was a big day for the General Conference. The conference elected eight Bishops to serve the eight episcopal areas of the GMC!! We are hopeful for the future of the GMC as we fulfill the mission of the church! The delegates continue to work through petitions to bring valuable updates to the Book of Doctrines and Discipline. The mission experiences of the conference continue to witness to the local communities in and around Johannesburg through service and ministry training.

✅🕊Bishop Elections! We're excited to welcome our new Bishop Jerry P. Kulah of Liberia who will begin serving the VA Annual Conference along with other Area 5 annual conferences starting Nov 5, 2026. 📣Shout out to Rev. Brandon Nichols, our Vice Conference Superintendent who made Virginia proud by speaking before the General Conference today as the chair of Local Church Committee. We're grateful for Brandon and all those working hard to discern important legislation that will shape the life of the GMC going forward!

🌍 General Conference Day 3 | Mission in Action

Yesterday, during Day 3 of General Conference, some of our Virginia delegates had the opportunity to step outside the conference and participate in a mission experience at a local district office here in South Africa.

Throughout the day, food was distributed to hundreds of children, and our delegates participated in Bible school activities alongside those who faithfully serve this community.

What a blessing to see the Church at work beyond the walls of General Conference, serving, loving, and sharing the hope of Jesus together.

God bless the workers and missionaries who faithfully serve these communities throughout the year, as well as those who have traveled from around the world to serve this week. Please continue to pray for them and for all God is doing through the Global Methodist Church here in South Africa and around the world! 🙏🌍
