The FLD Lead Team just finished up our annual retreat where we created space to pray & plan for the next year and beyond! I’m sure many of you are in this same season of planning, praying & “calendaring”!

Our retreat started out with a collection of stations where we were given the opportunity to set down burdens, lean into thanksgiving, confess, sit in silence in order to give God space to speak & more! One of the stations was centered around DELIGHT! Creating space to delight in Jesus and experience simple joys is often overlooked in our spiritual practices. For us, this station looked like hopping on a bike and taking a slow ride down a beautiful country road. No agenda, no goals, just enjoyment in our communion with God and his creation. You would have found us all in matching hats that say “simple joys” on them!

This summer, in addition to all of your other rhythms, try adding delight into the mix! We hope you enjoy these photos from our Lead Team Retreat.

If you have been considering EFCA credentialing, the Gateway Program is a wonderful opportunity to walk through the EFCA Statement of Faith in a cohort setting. Woodlands Church in Plover is launching an in-person cohort beginning this July, and you are invited to take part.

Each session focuses on one article of the EFCA Statement of Faith, with two additional sessions covering current doctrinal issues and personal lifestyle. The Statement of Faith is a declaration of essential doctrine, centered on the gospel, around which the autonomous churches of the EFCA are united.

Many of us are walking with students, family members, church attendees or friends who identify as LGBTQ. These relationships naturally raise important questions about gender, sexuality, discipleship, and pastoral care all while holding to a traditional sexual ethic. As leaders, we not only carry our own questions—we’re also helping others process theirs. How do we do that faithfully? How do we reflect the heart of Jesus in conversations that can feel complex, emotional, or tense? In this seminar, we’ll take an honest and practical look at how Jesus engaged with people, what His posture teaches us, and how we can embody His love and truth as we walk alongside the people entrusted to us.
