At the 2017 WI Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, the Youth Panel gave Mental Health as their #1 concern.
In 1990, the U.S. Congress established the first full week of October as Mental Illness Awareness Week. Since then, mental health advocates across the country have joined with others in their communities to sponsor activities for public education about mental illness.
As part of this week's awareness efforts, two SPASH student clubs, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) will be hosting Sarah Leeper as the keynote speaker for a community presentation on Wednesday, October 10 at 7:00 pm in the SPASH Auditorium.
To support our Youth, families, and community, we will not hold Youth Group at the church building this week. Our Youth Ministry leaders will be attending the presentation.
This presentation is free to the public and all are welcomed to attend.
