SPRING FUN-RAISER IS COMING SOON! Saturday, May 9th! The dinner is now sold out, but a few concert-only tickets will soon be available for the show, which begins at 7:15 p.m.

Our much-loved Sunday service musicians; Brian Clarke, Mitzi MacDonald, Tim Mead, Ashby Laws and Joe Rohlman, plus the Unity South Singers, will perform. There will be a crafts sale, a 50/50 prize draw and several really great raffle prizes, too, in addition to free attendance prizes.

Raffle prizes include:
* Fishing excursion with Joe Richardson, then him preparing a meal from the catch for you!
* Personalized, musical voicemail greeting from Mitzi MacDonald
* Hair service and products from Theresa Crane of Renditions Salon

We welcome Christina Lupis as our newest prayer chaplain! Unity Prayer Chaplains are trained lay leaders who provide spiritual support to the congregation through holding sacred space, compassionate listening, and affirmative prayer. Christina has made a commitment to pray with people after services, do monthly wellness calls, and hold all information in strict confidentiality.

Church will be held this Sunday, February 1st.
Parking lot has been serviced (THANKS Larry!!!) and the doors will be open for service. It'll be cold, but we're "ON" for church happening. Come join us -- it's warm inside!

THOUGHTS FROM A VISION BOARD NEWBIE
I didn't know what to expect this past Saturday when I walked into the Vision Board workshop. I did know it was kind of a planning tool for the year ahead, but I was, frankly, a bit skeptical of the whole process.

As a Unity member, I definitely believe thoughts are prayers and words become actions, but the whole affirming/manifesting thing from a vision board, frankly, struck me as a little woo-woo. However, after hearing from the facilitators (Jeannie and Tamm) and especially the other ten-or-so participants there who'd constructed vision boards previously, I was no longer hesitant about creating one.

Even the process of selecting photos and affirming phrases for my personal goals seemed to shape alignment to my journey and purpose for this year. Additionally, It was fun to try to find specific photos and phrases - and I appreciated others in the group who helped me do this. It was definitely fun to share thoughts and experiences.

Then, as I put together my board (pasting the images and words onto a poster,) I started to sense that I was creating a certain "directive direction", so to speak. When I looked around at others' boards, I also could sense, not only their creativity, but also their beliefs that having specific thoughts, goals, and desires in front of them could truly make a difference in their lives.

Now, just looking at my board every day, I have visual images of the way I want to align my soul's purpose. And I realize that's not so woo-woo afterall; in fact, it's becoming a valuable tool to remind me of that and to keep those thoughts uppermost in my mind. I now know creating a vision board can be fun -- and even necessary -- in being specific to the Universe for setting direction for what I'd like my life to be.

I'm told we might do another vision board workshop again in a year or even six months' time...to adjust our boards or add to them. As someone who previously was pretty skeptical about the whole process, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the next workshop whenever it's offered.
