What a blessing to gather together this Sunday! ❤️

Today we heard from Isaiah 6:1–13, where Isaiah is given a glimpse of the holiness and glory of God and responds with those powerful words:

“Here am I; send me.” 🙏

It’s a reminder that when we truly recognize who God is, it changes how we see ourselves—and how willing we are to answer when He calls.

We’re also wishing Bob a very happy birthday today! 🎉🎂 We’re thankful for him and hope the year ahead is filled with plenty of blessings.

🏠 WE’RE GETTING CLOSER!

Today, Pastor Jeff spent some time framing up the walls in the bathroom and utility closet so the plumbers can come in and finish the rough-in plumbing.

Step by step, this ministry home is becoming a reality—and we are getting closer to the finish line!

We are currently about $30,000 away from completing this home.

The next major step is electrical, and we need $7,500 to get the electrical completed and ready to move forward.

We love Midweek Recharge 🙌

Tonight at Golden Avenue, we were challenged from 1 Peter 3:13–17 with a truth we all need to remember:

Doing what is right doesn’t always mean people will respond rightly.

Peter reminds us that even when we suffer for doing good, we are blessed. We don’t have to live in fear of people, because our hope is anchored in Christ.

We are called to honor Christ as Lord in our hearts, be ready to give an answer for the hope that is within us, and do it with gentleness and respect.

Following Jesus doesn’t guarantee a life without opposition. But it does guarantee that we never walk through opposition alone.

Keep doing what is right. Keep your heart anchored in Christ. Keep your testimony strong. And keep pointing people to the hope we have in Jesus.

What a Sunday at Golden Avenue! 🙌

We were challenged by the Word as we finished the Sermon on the Mount and were reminded of what happens “When the King Finishes His Sermon.”

Jesus didn’t simply teach like another teacher—He spoke with authority. The crowds were astonished by His teaching, but we were reminded that being amazed by Jesus isn’t the same as being transformed by Jesus. The difference isn’t simply hearing His Word—the difference is obeying it.

Today, we worshiped King Jesus, celebrated another baptism, and rejoiced in what God is doing in the lives of His people! 🌊🙌

We also had the opportunity to celebrate Pastor Jeff and express just how grateful we are for his leadership, faithfulness, and love for our church family. We are beyond grateful for the way God has used him to shepherd Golden Avenue.

What a day! What a Savior! What a church family!

What are you building your life on?

Jesus said that the person who hears His words and does them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. But the one who hears and does not obey is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

The storms of life will come. The question isn’t whether the storm will come—it’s whether your foundation will stand when it does.

Jesus is the Rock. His Word is our foundation. And following Him means more than hearing His voice—it means obeying it.

🔥 MIDWEEK RECHARGE RECAP 🔥

Tonight we were challenged from 1 Peter 2:21–25 to look at the suffering of Jesus and remember that He didn’t just call us to follow Him—He showed us how.

Jesus suffered without sinning.
He endured without retaliating.
He entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly.

And the greatest truth of all:

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.” — 1 Peter 2:24 (ESV)

Jesus took what we deserved so that we could receive what we could never earn.

We don’t follow Christ because the Christian life is always easy. We follow Him because He went before us, He paid for us, and He is transforming us.

Tonight was a powerful reminder that our response to suffering, injustice, and difficulty should look different because we belong to Jesus.

What a night of worship, fellowship, and being challenged by the Word! 🙌

Jesus bore our sins. Now we get to live for righteousness.
