What Pastor Barb is not saying is to allow yourself to be a doormat and be used and abused. What she is saying is don’t become a welcome mat for offense and bitterness. You can walk in freedom and forgiveness while holding boundaries of how you allow people to treat you. It’s a both and type situation!

🙏🏼 The youth of today are the church of today and we equip them to be just that!

👋🏼 Looking for a youth group for your middle or high schooler? We’d love to get to know them! Doors open at 6:00 and we start at 6:30. 📝 If the Epistles (letters) weren’t written to us, why should I read them? They were living in a completely different time than we are!

The cool thing about the Epistles is that they lay out basic doctrine and Christian practice. Christianity was new and through the Holy Spirit and their reasoning together, the early apostles were laying out what it meant to be a Christian.

What does that mean for us? The Epistles are excellent books for us to read to learn what life as a Christian should look like for us! Of course there’s plenty of contextual things to study out, but as Eric said on Sunday, don’t just throw it out because it doesn’t apply to today’s world. Look for the principle in why the early church was being instructed that way. How does it apply to you?
