What a joy filled Sunday at Gospel Baptist Church! From the quiet strength of our early prayer time to the powerful message brought by Jacob Hoy, the whole day felt like God was moving in every moment.

Jacob preached on Peter — reminding us that he wasn’t perfect. He stumbled, he failed… yet in maturity he became exactly what Jesus declared him to be: a rock. What an encouragement for every one of us. God doesn’t just see who we are — He sees who we’re becoming.

And today we were reminded of the greatest hope we carry: because Jesus rose from the dead, we have a living, unshakable hope. His resurrection is our confidence that grace really does change people.

Grateful for a church family that prays together, grows together, and celebrates the grace — and the resurrection hope — of Jesus together.

Verse of the Week — Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” — Colossians 3:2

As we move through this week at GBC, this verse calls us to pause and realign our focus. Life pulls our attention in a hundred directions — responsibilities, worries, distractions, noise. But Paul reminds us that our minds were made for something higher.

To “set your minds on things above” is an intentional choice:
• A choice to look toward Christ’s kingdom instead of earthly chaos.
• A choice to anchor our thoughts in God’s truth rather than shifting circumstances.
• A choice to pursue what is eternal, steady, and holy.

This week, let’s practice lifting our gaze. Let’s think on what is pure, lasting, and rooted in Christ. When our minds rise, our hearts follow — and our lives begin to reflect the One we’re looking toward.

Homeschool Fellowship at 9:30 AM — a weekly gathering for families to learn and build community
Small Group at 6:00 PM — midweek discipleship and connection

Small Group at 10:00 AM — morning fellowship and study
West Salem Small Group at 6:00 PM — excited to see this group continue growing

What a powerful morning at Gospel Baptist Church. From Hebrews 1:4–14, Pastor Jef reminded us that angels are incredible beings — they worship, they are sent to protect, and they help reveal God’s messages.

But even with all their glory and purpose, Jesus is greater. He has a better name — the Son. He holds a better position — seated on the eternal throne. He carries greater authority — the One whom angels worship and obey.

What a Savior. What a King. Let’s keep our eyes on Him this week.

This week at GBC, we’re anchoring our hearts in the reminder that God calls us to stand firm — not in our own strength, but in the hope of the risen Christ. Because Jesus lives, our faithfulness matters, our service has purpose, and our labor in Him is never wasted.

Let’s lean into this truth together and keep pressing forward with joy, confidence, and steadfast faith.

• Wednesday Morning — Homeschool Fellowship (9:30–11:30) New at GBC! A weekly gathering for homeschool families to learn, connect, and build community.
• Wednesday Night — Small Group Study Dig deeper into God’s Word and grow alongside others.
• Thursday Morning — Small Group A midweek opportunity for fellowship and study.
• Thursday Night — West Salem Small Group We’re excited to see this group begin again!

There’s something for everyone — and we’d love to see you this week as we continue growing together in Christ.
