Proverbs 16:9
The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.

Many high school graduates have hopes and dreams for the future. I certainly did. I just didn’t know if they would come to pass or not. During that season of uncertainty, Proverbs 16:9 was my favorite Bible verse because it reminded me that God was sovereign over my hopes and dreams.

Though we can attempt to map out the future, the Lord already knows what lies ahead of us and how we’ll get there. Rather than focusing on our hopes and dreams, let’s focus on our Creator and Savior who establishes our steps.

Happy Memorial Day

John 15:13. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” This verse embodies the spirit of Memorial Day. It mirrors both Christ's sacrifice and the selflessness of those we honor today.

The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost

2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.

5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. 7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? 9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,[b] 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”

Elliot attends school at Shanksville Stonycreek SD and a member of Friedens Boy Scout Troop 152. He and his family are members at Unity UCC. He was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. We all love to eat and here’s an easy way to help!😋

Just a reminder! We will be have Brunch Church Sunday May 31 at 10:30. We will be in the Fellowship Hall. 404 W. Union Street. We will still have Sunday School at 9:30 at the church. Everyone is Welcome and we will be live streaming the message around 11:00 on both Facebook and YouTube.
