St. Camillus Church We are a large multicultural Catholic parish made up of folks from over 100 different lands.

Each weekend over 4,500 people gather to worship, experience diversity in community and to make a joyful noise unto the Lord with one of our seven great choirs. In addition we strive to be a mission driven community that seeks to serve, reach out to and be advocates for our brothers and sisters especially the poor, immigrant and the alienated here and abroad.

Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a special Jubilee Year to commemorate the eight hundredth anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. This Year of Saint Francis will invite believers and communities to rediscover the way of life of the Saint of Assisi: a life that is simple and essential, open to peace, fraternity, and respect for creation.

The Apostolic Penitentiary grants a plenary indulgence, under the usual conditions, to those who take part in the Jubilee initiatives with a sincere spirit and a willingness to undergo inner conversion, expressing their faith also through responsible choices toward the world we inhabit.

The Year of Saint Francis is intended in a particular way for the various Franciscan communities—religious men and women and lay members of the First, Second, and Third Orders, both regular and secular—as well as for all communities and associations inspired by Franciscan spirituality. Nevertheless, the invitation is open to all: anyone may experience this time of grace by making a pilgrimage to a Franciscan church or to a place dedicated to Saint Francis anywhere in the world, rediscovering in prayer the value of simplicity and the care of our common home.

This Jubilee Year, which marks eight centuries of Franciscan memory, is above all an invitation to action.

The example of Saint Francis, a man of poverty, humility, and reconciliation, urges us to live a concrete charity, to build more just relationships, and to foster peace, caring for people and for the environment as inseparable gifts.

Conditions for receiving the Indulgence (for oneself or for the deceased)

* Sacramental confession to be in God’s grace (in the eight days before or after).
* Participation in Mass and Eucharistic Communion.
* To visit in the form of a pilgrimage any Franciscan conventual church or place of worship dedicated to St. Francis anywhere in the world, where one renews one’s profession of faith, through the recitation of the Creed, to reaffirm one’s Christian identity (Every Friday at 6pm, the Father Grace chapel will be open for Eucharistic Adoration).
* The recitation of the Lord’s Prayer, to reaffirm the dignity of children of God, received in Baptism.
* To pray for the intentions of the Holy Father, to reaffirm belonging to the Church, whose foundation and visible center of unity is the Roman Pontiff.

Le Pape Léon XIV a proclamé une Année jubilaire spéciale pour commémorer le huitième centenaire de la mort de saint François d’Assise.

Cette Année de saint François invitera les croyants et les communautés à redécouvrir le style de vie du Saint d’Assise : une vie simple et essentielle, ouverte à la paix, à la fraternité et au respect de la création.

La Pénitencerie apostolique accorde l’indulgence plénière, aux conditions habituelles, à ceux qui participent aux initiatives jubilaires dans un esprit sincère et avec une volonté de conversion intérieure, exprimant leur foi également par des choix responsables envers le monde que nous habitons.

L’Année de saint François s’adresse tout particulièrement aux différentes communautés franciscaines — religieux et religieuses, ainsi que membres laïcs des Premier, Deuxième et Tiers-Ordres, tant réguliers que séculiers — de même qu’à toutes les communautés et associations inspirées par la spiritualité franciscaine.

L’invitation demeure néanmoins ouverte à tous : chacun peut vivre ce temps de grâce en accomplissant un pèlerinage vers une église franciscaine ou vers un lieu dédié à saint François, partout dans le monde, en redécouvrant dans la prière la valeur de la simplicité et le soin de notre maison commune.

Cette Année jubilaire, qui marque huit siècles de mémoire franciscaine, est avant tout une invitation à l’action.

L’exemple de saint François, homme de pauvreté, d’humilité et de réconciliation, nous presse de vivre une charité concrète, de bâtir des relations plus justes et de promouvoir la paix, en prenant soin des personnes et de l’environnement comme de dons inséparables.

Conditions pour recevoir l’Indulgence (pour soi-même ou pour les défunts)

* La confession sacramentelle, afin d’être en état de grâce (dans les huit jours qui précèdent ou qui suivent).
* La participation à la Messe et la communion eucharistique.
* Visiter, sous forme de pèlerinage, toute église conventuelle franciscaine ou tout lieu de culte dédié à saint François, partout dans le monde, où l’on renouvelle sa profession de foi par la récitation du Credo, afin de réaffirmer son identité chrétienne.
* La récitation du Notre Père, afin de réaffirmer la dignité d’enfants de Dieu, reçue au Baptême.
* Prier aux intentions du Saint-Père, afin de réaffirmer l’appartenance à l’Église, dont le fondement et le centre visible d’unité est le Pontife Romain.

El Papa León XIV ha proclamado un Año Jubilar especial para conmemorar el octavo centenario de la muerte de san Francisco de Asís. Este Año de San Francisco invita a los creyentes y a las comunidades a redescubrir el estilo de vida del Santo de Asís: una vida sencilla y esencial, abierta a la paz, la fraternidad y el respeto por la creación.

La Penitenciaría Apostólica concede una indulgencia plenaria, bajo las condiciones habituales, a quienes participen en las iniciativas jubilares con un espíritu sincero y una auténtica disposición a la conversión interior, expresando su fe también mediante decisiones responsables en favor del mundo que habitamos.

El Año de San Francisco está dirigido de manera especial a las diversas comunidades franciscanas —religiosos y religiosas, así como a los miembros laicos de la Primera, Segunda y Tercera Orden, tanto regular como seglar—, además de todas las comunidades y asociaciones inspiradas en la espiritualidad franciscana. Sin embargo, la invitación está abierta a todos: cualquier persona puede vivir este tiempo de gracia realizando una peregrinación a una iglesia franciscana o a un lugar dedicado a san Francisco en cualquier parte del mundo, redescubriendo en la oración el valor de la sencillez y el cuidado de nuestra casa común.

Este Año Jubilar, que conmemora ocho siglos de memoria franciscana, es, sobre todo, una invitación a vivir el Evangelio con un compromiso renovado.

El ejemplo de san Francisco, hombre de pobreza, humildad y reconciliación, nos impulsa a vivir una caridad concreta, a construir relaciones más justas y a promover la paz, cuidando de las personas y de la creación como dones inseparables.

Condiciones para recibir la indulgencia (para uno mismo o por los difuntos)

* Confesarse sacramentalmente y permanecer en estado de gracia (dentro de los ocho días anteriores o posteriores).
* Participar en la Santa Misa y recibir la Sagrada Comunión.
* Visitar en peregrinación una iglesia franciscana o cualquier lugar de culto dedicado a san Francisco en cualquier parte del mundo, donde se renueve la profesión de fe mediante el rezo del Credo, para reafirmar la propia identidad cristiana. (Todos los viernes a las 6:00 p.m., la Capilla de la Gracia estará abierta para la Adoración Eucarística).
* Rezar el Padre Nuestro, para reafirmar la dignidad de hijos de Dios recibida en el Bautismo.
* Orar por las intenciones del Santo Padre, reafirmando así la comunión con la Iglesia, cuyo fundamento y centro visible de unidad es el Romano Pontífice.

We are going back to our popular St. Francis
Builds volunteer trip at St. Francis Inn, in Philadelphia, PA, for the weekend of September 18, 19,& 20. We will meet to carpool at the St. Camillus Friary parking lot at 1:00 PM Friday, Sept. 18, and will return Sunday evening, Sept. 20. The cost is $150/per person, which includes all trip costs and a donation to the Inn. Scholarships are available. If you are interested, please contact Bob Ryan at [email protected] or 240-375-1380.

Regresamos con nuestro popular viaje de voluntariado “St. Francis Builds” al St. Francis Inn, en Filadelfia, Pensilvania, durante el fin de semana del 18, 19 y 20 de septiembre.
