How fortunate are we that we have a mother to plead and pray before God the Father for us. -Blessed Pope John Paul II
I came across with many Protestants and I asked them 1 question out of curiosity “Why don’t you believe in Mother Mary?” And they answered that Jesus Christ said that everything is possible but through me then why should we go to or pray to Mother Mary?
They also said that unlike the Catholics we do not worship any Saints or specially Mother Mary. Well sometimes I do wonder that suppose God has not given us a mother in our lives then what would have happened? The whole world would have in chaos. Catholics do not worship Mother Mary but she has been given a High Place in the church since she was the Mother of Jesus. God created her Pure and free of sins. God did not choose her just because He to come down to earth, He choose her for a purpose. Mary is the icon and a symbol for all women that how they should be. She stand as an emblem for all women and for all mothers of the world.
For God everything is possible and everything is made possible through Him. Wouldn’t it was possible for God to come down to earth and say “I’m God, the Creator. Come to me”? But instead He choose a woman to come down to earth and be born like other human beings. This shows that in the eyes of God all are equal, whether it’s a Man or a Woman.
A mother can withstand anything but she can’t her children dying facing death sentence. The first sword pierced through her heart is when the Good News was proclaimed to her, that a Son will be born to her, who is the Prince of Heaven, He will die for all the Sins of Mankind. She knew that that Day will come when her Son Jesus Christ will be crucified. She also knew that who was He, but it’s also difficult to calm a Mother’s Heart. Even though He was God, who created Her but she was also His Earthly Mother through whom He stepped into this world.
And for the pains and sorrow that she endured, God blessed Her and placed Her in the High Heaven. The Angel of the Lord came to Her and took her to Heaven. She never died and there is no record that shows that she died. God venerated Her and also the Disciples. Do you even know how we have the portrait of Mother Mary?
Among the Gospels present in the Bible written by the Disciples, except 1 Gospels which wasn’t written by a Disciple. And that is St. Luke. Saint Luke was not the Disciple of Jesus but He loved Jesus, and the sacrifice of Jesus inspired him to devote himself for the cause of the Lord. After the Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Disciples, each one was sent to a different direction. All of them loved Mother Mary as their own mother, and wanted to take Her along with them. But it was not possible for Mother Mary to go with 12 Disciples at the same time. So St. Luke made a portrait of Mother Mary and said to all the Disciples that its very difficult for Mother Mary to go with 12 Disciple, instead we will take the portrait of Mother Mary and take it along with us. So Mother Mary was there with them always.
The way Jesus loved and respected Her Mother shows that’s how everyone in this world whether male or female, should love and respect their mothers. Jesus never disobeyed His mother and never disrespected Her, neither He hurt Her sentiments or feelings. Even though He was God and been God He never showed His pride but instead bowed before Mother Mary as His mother (earthly).
Happy Mother's Day
