Four faith-filled young men were joyfully received into the postulancy during Mass on Aug. 20 at Holy Name College in Silver Spring, Maryland. Br. Gino Correa, OFM, director of postulancy, presided at the liturgy, assisted by Br. Henry Fulmer, OFM, guardian of the Holy Name College fraternity.

On Friday, February 2nd the church celebrated Candlemas, we celebrate this feast to commemorate the purification of the Virgin Mary and the presentation of Christ in the Temple.

Fr. Russell Murray, OFM blessed all our candles that will be used in our chapel this year. As a fraternity, we proceeded into the chapel for evening prayer. The procession represents the entry of Christ, who is the light of the world, into the Temple of Jerusalem.

When Jesus was born, King Herold - in his fear to be overthrown by this new king - ordered the massacre of all baby boys under the age of two years old in Bethlehem and the vicinity. Today, we remember these babies and their innocent sacrifice. We also pray for all children who have lost their lives and for their parents who are mourning them. Holy Innocents, pray for us!
