The Lead Community Organizer at the Church Council will play an integral role as a member of the team, collaboratively leading our Seattle budget roundtable, Faith Land Initiative, and emerging organizing priorities. The ideal candidate for this role is excellent at building relationships that hold complexity, which builds strong coalitions and movements, positioning the Church Council as a trusted partner in the region.

Salary & Benefits:
-$74,452 - $88,412 full time exempt
-Generous paid time off policies: vacation, sick/wellness, holidays
-100% Employer Paid Insurance: Medical (PPO), dental, vision
-Professional Development Budget
-SEP-IRA contribution after first year of employment

We are so excited that Tent City3 is moving in with us at University Congregational UCC! UCUCC has offered one of their parking lots for TC3 to stay over multiple seasons, and this is the first time since we've had our offices at UCUCC that TC3 has returned.

The Church Council joined UFCW 3000 to deliver letters of support for Vestis workers, who provide clean linens, towels, scrubs, coveralls, mats, bedding, napkins, tablecloths, and so much more. Their demands include:

-Safe working conditions
-Affordable, quality health care
-Fair wages that reflect the difficulty and importance of their work
-The ability to retire with dignity

These workers play a vital role in keeping businesses, health care facilities, and service industries operating safely and effectively. Their labor deserves recognition, respect, and fair treatment.

Get prepared to be a confident nonviolent presence at protests and direct actions. This moment requires a team of support to create a sense of power and belonging. There is work for all of us. We don’t know what the next call to action will be, but this is a pivotal time to skill up and start building trust with others that will call us into action.
