God does not waste timing.
Tonight at sundown, Rosh Hashanah begins, a new Hebrew year and a season that calls us to reflection, repentance, prayer, and return.
And look at the moment we’re standing in.
It begins on September 11, in the same year America marked 250 years. Earlier this year, we didn’t simply celebrate 250 years of a nation. We thanked God for 250 years of grace and mercy, because when we look honestly at where we are, we know we have needed both.
Maybe entering a new year isn’t only about asking, God, what are You going to do next?
Maybe it’s also asking, God, what are You calling us back to?
Back to prayer.
Back to truth.
Back to obedience.
Back to Yeshua.
We can ask for a new season, but a new season still requires a surrendered yes.
So as this new Hebrew year begins, this is our prayer for America: may revival spark again across this nation. Not simply emotional moments, but hearts returning to God. Homes returning to prayer. Churches returning to holiness. People returning to the truth of Jesus.
And may that revival begin with us.
Because before we ask God to change a nation, we have to be willing to let Him change us.
New season. Same surrendered yes.

Sometimes God gives you a clear instruction, and one person’s reaction is enough to make you question the whole thing.
That’s how powerful approval can become when we’re not careful.
We say we want God’s will, but then we start checking faces. Who agrees? Who understands? Who supports it? Who thinks it makes sense?
And before long, obedience starts getting edited by people who were never in the room when God spoke.
Galatians reminds us that we cannot live for the approval of people and remain fully surrendered to God.
That doesn’t mean you ignore wise counsel. It doesn’t mean you become unteachable. But there is a difference between seeking wisdom and needing permission from people to obey God.
Whose reaction has become louder than God’s instruction?
Some people will not understand your yes because they were never assigned to carry it.
You can love them. Honor them. Listen when wisdom is present.
But do not hand them the pen.
Don’t let their reaction edit God’s instruction.

Not everything choking the Word in your life looks like sin.
Sometimes it just looks like too much.
Too many responsibilities. Too many notifications. Too many opinions. Too many things demanding your attention until the voice of God becomes one more sound in the background.
Jesus warned that the cares of this world can enter in and choke the Word until it becomes unfruitful. The Word didn’t lose its power. Something else was allowed to crowd the space where it was supposed to grow.
And that should make us stop.
Because sometimes we’re asking, “God, why isn’t this producing?” while giving everything else more access to our focus than the thing He said.
What got louder after God spoke?
Was it fear? Pressure? Somebody else’s opinion? Your own overthinking? The urgency of everything happening around you?
Protect what He planted.
Everything demanding your attention does not deserve your agreement.
And everything loud is not more important than what God whispered.

Sometimes doubt doesn’t sound like, “I don’t believe God.”
Sometimes it sounds like constantly reopening what He already settled.
You prayed. You received direction. You felt peace. But then the circumstances changed, somebody said something that shook you, the money looked different, the timeline stretched, and suddenly you were back at the same question God had already answered.
James warns us about being double-minded because faith cannot stay anchored while doubt keeps getting an equal vote.
That doesn’t mean you’ll never have questions. It means your questions should come to God, not become your god.
So here’s the real heart check: What has God already settled that you keep putting back up for debate?
At some point, faith has to stop asking the same question just because the answer became uncomfortable.
You may not understand the timing. You may not understand the process. But if God truly spoke, don’t let changing circumstances convince you that His character changed too.
Stop reopening what God already settled.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

God gave us a mind. He gave us wisdom. He gave us discernment. And yes, sometimes common sense really ain’t that common.

But Proverbs doesn’t tell us not to think. It tells us not to lean on our own understanding.

Because sometimes we want God’s instruction to make sense before we give Him our yes.

We want to know how it’s going to work, where the provision is coming from, why He chose this route, why that door closed, why this person is involved, and what the outcome is going to look like.

But what happens when God gives you enough instruction to obey without giving you enough information to feel comfortable?

That’s where the heart check is.

Have you been calling it “wisdom” when really you’re waiting for God to make His instruction make sense to you first?

Sometimes He doesn’t show us the whole thing because our human expectation would try to shrink His plan down to something we can predict, control, or explain.

And God is not limited to the outcome you were able to imagine.

What He is doing may not make sense from where you’re standing, but He already sees what you cannot.

So use wisdom. Seek Him. Ask questions. Test what you hear against His Word.

But don’t make understanding a condition of your yes.

Trust Him with the part you can’t explain.

Sometimes you need to stop staring at what hasn’t happened yet and remember what God has already done.

Joshua 21:45 says, “There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken… all came to pass.”

All.

Israel had wilderness seasons, battles, delays, opposition, and plenty of moments when what God promised probably looked impossible from where they were standing. Yet when Scripture looks back over the journey, it says not one word failed.

And sometimes we judge God’s faithfulness from the middle of an unfinished chapter.

Look back. Remember the prayers He answered, the provision that came, the doors He opened, the ones He protected you by closing, and the things that once looked impossible that you’re now living in.

Why would you let today’s unfinished promise make you forget yesterday’s fulfilled one?

What God has already done is evidence of the character of the One you’re still waiting on.

Not one word failed then. And God has not changed.

“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen…”

We love the yes, but sometimes we struggle with everything between the promise and the Amen.

God’s yes doesn’t always come wrapped in our preferred timeline, method, person, place, or process. Sometimes He reveals a few details about what He’s doing, and instead of waiting for the rest, we start trying to fit those pieces together ourselves.

But you can’t complete a puzzle when God hasn’t handed you all the pieces yet.

That’s where surrender comes in.

Sometimes the challenge isn’t believing God can do it. It’s releasing how we decided He should do it. We can become so attached to the picture we’ve created that when God moves differently, we mistake His process for a problem.

So what have you added to God’s promise that He never actually said?

Release the timeline. Release the method. Release the need to know how every piece fits, and trust the One who already sees the finished picture.

His promise does not require our blueprint. His yes does not need our version of how.

And It Is So September | Day 3

God does not speak empty words.

Isaiah 55:11 says His Word will not return unto Him void. It will accomplish what He pleases and prosper in the thing where He sent it.

That means the absence of visible evidence does not mean His Word stopped working.

Sometimes we’re looking for movement we can recognize, while God is working in places we cannot see. He’s preparing people, shifting circumstances, developing us, closing doors, opening others, and aligning details we may never know needed to move.

And impatience can make us interfere with a process that never stopped simply because we couldn’t see it.

Have you mistaken “I can’t see anything happening” for “God isn’t doing anything”?

Don’t dig up the seed because you haven’t seen the harvest yet. Don’t abandon the instruction because the result hasn’t appeared. And don’t call His Word ineffective simply because it is still accomplishing what He sent it to do.

If He sent the Word, the Word has an assignment.

Yesterday we started at the beginning: God said it, and it was so. But today the question becomes, do we actually trust the One who said it?

Numbers 23:19 reminds us that God is not a man that He should lie. People change their minds. Circumstances change. Plans change. Timelines change. But God’s character does not.

Sometimes we believe what He said until what we see starts saying something different. Then we reopen what God settled and begin asking, Did He really say it? Is it still going to happen? Did something change?

But if God cannot lie, why are we treating His Word like an uncertain possibility?

That doesn’t mean every desire we have is a promise from God. But when He has truly spoken, our responsibility is not to keep renegotiating His Word every time the circumstances shift. It is to stay surrendered, obey His instruction, and trust His timing.

What has God already settled that you keep putting back on the table?

“Hath he said, and shall he not do it?”
