"We need two people to tell the story today*, Jesus and the Holy Spirit--Jesus was leaving so he said don't worry I will send my sibling to help."
"Is the sibling a boy or a girl?" (Kids picking out people to help tell the story)
"Some people say the Sibling is a boy, some a girl, some say they are nonbinary, so you can pick who they are, they are Jesus's twin. So Jesus says, don't worry I'm sending my twin the Holy Spirit to comfort and help and advocate for you when you feel alone or scared."
The Twins at the church, "Jesus had a twin!"
"yes, the Holy Spirit, to help us"
"Oh my gosh, that's so cool, we have to tell everyone, I didn't know Jesus and the Holy Spirit are twins! JESUS HAD A TWIN"

*We tell the story with peg people everyone gets their own set to play out the story, often the kids ask if the people are boys or girls, I remind the kids that people can wear whatever clothes they want and in Biblical times Boys were robes so they can pick whatever peg people for all genders, but they find asking someone's gender to be normal :)

(Yes HS as Jesus's twin is ONE way to tell the complex story...I am trying to layer it, I like to tell the stories as many layers and not one strict interpretation)

Then Pride Sunday at 10am recognizing all our Dignity for all LGBTQIA+ scholarship awardees
